| Currently my gaming group and I have been playing BT mixed with Wing Commander. We use BT rules & objects but we do play so that the Inner Sphere, Periphery, pirate groups, mercenaries, ComStar, Word of Blake, Clans, etc. along with aliens (including the Kilrathi) are allied against the Mantu. We don't use nuclear or antimatter weaponry in our games, though.

First, welcome.
next, I have not really mixed systems or settings when it comes to BT. I have with others systems/settings. Like I have mixed Wing Commander and Robotech with stat converted Zentradi craft being the Kilrathi fighters.

Vagabond,
Thank you for welcoming me to Mordel's forums. I find it interesing that you mix RoboTech with Wing Commander. Is Vagabond your loginname named after Vagabond from Wing Commander 3 & 4 or another character? Also, our gaming group is considering magic spells like conjuring up environmental conditions and exploring such conditions using Tactical Operations rules.

No but we have experimented with other BT rule systems such as missles with guidance systems and autocannons that can shoot multiple shells without jamming
My favorite were the battletech omega rules
