Imagine, if you will, Blackadder meets Dr. Who.
A clueless, hapless, luckless minister in the British government suddenly has an encounter with a group of bored aliens. Intending to make sport of him, the aliens give him a time machine (which is shaped like a portable toilet) and allow him to go back and forth through time, accompanied by any one person he chooses.
And so, our wanna-be hero bumbles his way through time and space, somehow managing to help the good guys win.
