==Overview:==
As the result of recent incidents in and around the Chaos March, the Free
Worlds' League has discovered a major tactical and logistical concern.
More prominent and important units, plus those units with political pull, were
typically given access to newer machines that incorporated advanced
technology. As such, even their light mechs could theoretically hold their own
in a fight.
However, when several of these units began to suffer heavy losses, "reserve"
forces consisting of less important and less politically significant units had
to be deployed to compensate. These units frequently had older, less advanced
machines. While it was cheapter to maintain them than to buy brand-new,
top-of-the-line units, these older machines faired poorly in battle. In
particular, losses among the light mechs and vehicles were staggering.
In an attempt to reverse this trend, the Iguan was designed.
==Capabilities:==
The Iguan was intended to make use of modern technology in order to make the
mech as powerful as possible while still making the mech a cost-effective
alternative to the older machines.
Its primary weapons are a pair of ER Medium Lasers, weapons which can reach
out and sting opposing light and medium mechs, light vehicles, and battle
armor. Immediately supporting them are a pair of ER Small Lasers; while they
themselves cannot do much damage, they can still sap away at a target's armor.
A flamer mounted in the head serves to protect the mech against infantry.
While the mech may seem a touch slow in comparison to other units of its size,
its jump jets more than compensate for this; in fact, comparable units such as
the Thorn and Commando lack jets.
To help vent the heat from these weapons and the jets, double heat sinks have
been added. A pilot could theoretically jump their full distance and fire off
all weapons at once and break even on heat; however, should even one heat sink
be lost, the pilot will have to play it safe.
