==Overview:==
The Freischutz LA 73 was built to be a heavy hitter from both medium to long
range. The Suelwesisei Automotive Inc of Bakwell responded to a directive of
the Co-Alliance Military for a cheap but hard hitting vehicle that ranged in
weight of 55 to 70 tons.
The Freischutz isn't cheap, but it does have a bite that is very much threat
to most units equal in size or smaller and even to a few large weighted
units.
Many Freischutzes were sent to forward line units in Vondor Space and many
have fought off the Imperial Karagin hordes in the many battles that have
ranged over the contested space area between the this portion of the CA and
the Karagin Empire.

It's basically a wheeled version of the Manticore tank.
It has a little more punch, but now has some terrain restrictions. _________________ "I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat." -Edgar Allen Poe"I knew there was something special about you, but I never realized you were really a cat." Wolfwood to a random cat (Trigun)

And the tracked version didn't? _________________ Karagin Only the dead have seen the end of war. - Plato

Not as much as the wheeled version does. _________________ Reality is where the Pizza-man comes from!'Gucken, petzen, verpissen!' Let's see woods are out, that is pretty much true of both tracked and wheeled and hover. Light versus heavy...
Rubble out for the wheel vehicle (never quite understood this one but oh well.) vs tracked...
Water out for both wheeled and tracked...
So where is the major advantage of the tracked for terrain? _________________ Karagin Only the dead have seen the end of war. - Plato

That it can traverse rough, rubble and light wood hexes which a wheeled vehicle can't.
If you have a standard map without much of the terrain mentioned above there isn't much advantage though but on appropriate maps tracked tanks will rule! _________________ Reality is where the Pizza-man comes from!'Gucken, petzen, verpissen!' Just like wheeled vehicles on maps with a lot of pavement and roads. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

Each vehicle has it's advantages and each has it's draw backs...
As for the terrain restrictions, some make sense some don't for either tracked or wheeled.
Given though that most folks WON'T go plowing through wood hexes means that both vehicles types will normally be out in the open hexes, so they would be then be equal...
But it is good to see that some folks do pay attention to terrain and understand that it can be used to gain some kind of advantage over the enemy... _________________ Karagin Only the dead have seen the end of war. - Plato

Speaking of tracked vehicles and light woods: I've used light woods quite often for driving my tank into it to get no malus for firing out of it while my enemy does get the malus firing into it.
In city fights tracked vehicles also have an advantage in the later period of the fight when several buildings collapsed to rubble. Tracked tanks can drive right through the city while other vehicles have to zick-zack around. _________________ Reality is where the Pizza-man comes from!'Gucken, petzen, verpissen!'
