Welcome to the board, tom!
As an introduction, a heads-up about the convenient "user review" function and a short message on etiquette: there is a button at the bottom of each user review which allow us to start a topic in this forum. Just like I did right now!
Now, this is no rule, but I tend to keep comments about other reviews to exactly this function, unless I generalise (for instance, when my view differs from the general public).
Which brings me to the main point: we tend not to try to offend the other members of this community (apart from in the Saloon, which is nevertheless still a moderated area). Sure, "nerdy" may be seen in a very humorous context, but you are a newcomer. If you and Stinger are friends, that's a different story entirely, but right now, that is nothing but a guess on my part....and your behalf.
Last but definitely not least: to the majority of people here, fluff is definitely important. If Stinger wants to label a mech with 0.0 and founds his reason for that in the fluff of the design, I for one think that that's just about the most valid reason. Heck, I've done similar things myself, for example I gave the Orion 1-V 0.5.
And I would be surprised if I was to be called a nerd these days. Heck, I'd love to have more time to spend on this hobby, I'm so damned out of the loop....
Anyways, glad you're here, I hope you stay, despite the know-it-all attitude that I may have struck!

Well hello to you to tom..
For your first post you go out of your way to try to point out that I am "nerdy" because I shot holes in a mech you like. Not the best way to win friends and influence people.
Sorry but if you like munchy crap that is entirely up to you. And to me that is really all this mech is. IF they had named it something else and given it better fluff then, hey, I would have no problems with it at all. But they chose to alter the best mech in the game and give it a horrible design flaw, when it had none. Need I point out the Timberwolf Pryde? probably one of the most famous Timberwolfes of all time.
Now if realizing and trying to follow the universe at it is, and not altering simply on a whim makes me "nerdy", then so be it. I will happily be a "nerd".

Really? Can I get a link to the new fluff? Curious to see how they changed it.

Just like I said when your review was discussed.
Free access TRO from Solaris 7. The fluff is identical to that in Paper TRO 3067, so it's official.
It's also on Mechground site, but you need to register (it's free).

Wow there is a 3067 book? I'll admit I completely forgot about that one, I havent bought a new B-tech book since Tro 3060, shows you how intune with the current universe I am. Anyway, I am glad they refluffed it, though I do wonder what would really happen when word gets out that the Sharks are selling to IS forces. Sounds like a Trial of Absorbsion thing to me.
And SD, I, wish you posted a link to it way back then. But I think I wrote that shortly before, or after 3067 actually came out, so though cannon may have changed it was mech 4 fluff originally and that is what I based my review on. As I said if they refluff it, which they did then I will eat my words. I still think its a fairly munchy mech that no clan would build as a second line machine. But that may just be me.

You never asked
Aside form that I must recommend the TRO, at least one glance. There are some nice 'Mechs. Many machines form field manuals, ships, fighters, ...
Clans are starting to build more expensive second line 'Mechs. Lobo, Solitaire, Arcas, Scylla, Mad Cat Mk. II, and if you look at TRO 3055 Upgrades... Those Phoenix clan 'Mechs don't look second line at all. Times are changing and clans are pushing Battlemechs even to front line galaxies to save some resources (Kerenskys, or how they call their money). Rebuilding toumans and hoarding strength seems to be their primary goal IMO.
