There are other schemes just as wacky. There was one about incindiary bats, another using birds to steer bombs, Japanese Ballon bombs, there are more out there.

That's just WW2. In Vietnam, the US used ammonia detectors to pick up VC piss, and remote sensors hidden in dung piles.
