The age-old problem with landmines is that landmines don't care about who trips them; they'll go off even if it means taking out the people who planted them.
The Cappellan Confederation is working with a new technology to get around this. Each of these mines is fitted with a friend-or-foe system. This system can recognize up to five different IFF signatures as being "friendly," meaning that it will not activate if a unit using one of these signatures passes over it.
Glitch - These mines are fragile, and so cannot be laid down using a Thunder warhead.
