Well, I'm finally running a campaign.

The party has two players so far. One player has a Commando; the other has a Savannah Master. The two are mercenaries who were sub-contracted by another merc unit to help fill a garrison contract.

Unfortunately, by the time we got done with character creation there was only ten minutes left (one of the players has work early in the morning). So, I got their contracts negotiated and had them do a multi-point recon. They were joined on this recon by an NCO with an Urbanmech. The SV was on point, while the two mechs hung back.

At the last recon point, the SV spotted two people sitting in front of a tent. They had a jeep that was armed with an infantry machine gun. So, the SV held them in place while the mechs arrived.

Unfortunately, it wasn't until after a full platoon of infantry had been called to deal with these guys that the players bothered to actually check out the jeep itself. Inside the glove compartment they found a book entitled "How To Survive The Coming Apocalypse."

That's right - instead of busting bandits, they got some survivalists.

Recon duty in an UrbanMech? Man, you have to have lots of time!

The survivalists were happy that your players didn´t have the motto: " Shoot first, than ask!"
I can understand that none of the players wanted to leave their machines until the infantry-platoon arrived! Maybe they thought that these two guys before the tend were only bait!
