The old vet steps into the doorway, his familiar FedCom jacket a little dirtier than usual, his brown leather vest tarnished and dulled by grime, his hand in a sling and wrapped in a bloody bandage.
His fedora, however, is untouched by the ravages of time.
Pulling his pistol out of his shoulder holster, he hands it to Lurch and smiles.
Lurch doesn't move except to take the gun.
"You're welcome."
And then he goes and sits at his usual corner booth, ordering something strong for the hand.
