It may be good thing, if you aren't standing on the bridge, or you don't want to let the bridge stand for some reason. Warrior should be able to use the environment to it's advantage.

Look at your former clan, it tried hard to emulate the ways of Jaguar, but the Jaguar uses it's surroundings to it's advantage. Big cats hunt from ambush, they attack with lethal ferocity and they can stalk their prey for hours and when they attack...

... they do so when they want, when the prey chances for escape are minimal. Cat knows it's capabilities and chooses it's prey carefully. Clans ritualized the war so their looses were minimal and it allowed them to show skill of the warrior, but when confronted with different tactics, clans had been defeated by technically weak, but numerous and desperate enemy that used tactics that were alien to your warriors. Both Inner Sphere forces and clan forces were forced to change their tactics. Maybe if the clans prepared themselves for IS tactics and payed more attention to intelligence brought by the dragoons than they did, than you wouldn't be mourning the loss of your clan and maybe the invading clans would already sit on Terra. There is no shame in being cunning.

OOC: I'm quite aware, what problems can follow talking like this to clanner, but I'm inclined toward reasoning and there are things that DC person wouldn't forget.
The tea wasn't spiked and this wasn't meant as an insult. Whole thing is that you underestimated the force needed to defeat the barbarians or your tactics. If it was regular campaign than you would win before we realized what's happening. The clans emulated only some aspects of their chosen animal totems, but it seems they willingly walked around the others. Clans created their rituals to save them from destruction that raged around the IS, but the rituals were turned against them here and you were slow to abandon them. In clan against clan conflicts they are excellent solution, but they hindered your effectiveness here. When two cats meet, the battle can be furious but usually the defeated one is able to walk out on it's own feet, but when the cat protects her young, being moral victor isn't favorable outcome.
OOC: In my opinion, if clan warrior said this, he would be executed immediately.
*strong sense of animosity hangs in the air, but both warriors seem to be quite calm*
And talking about clan behind it's warrior's back doesn't seem much honorable to me.
