Then this mech isn't for you
Wrong alternate time line.
On another note. Loads of Capellan haters on this forum

Don't rate it here. Review it dammit
You get a lasting mention of your review AND credits.
Also i get a central place to see what people think so i can improve on designs.
Now get reviewing!
p.s. pardon not looking at reviews first.. you have reviewed.
OK here's my reasoning for the gauss rifle's location.
a) I like max armour. So i wasn't willing to sacrifice a half ton from there. Losing a ton from pod space is possible.. but also kills some character.
b) I'm willing to take the risk on LT crits.
C) Notice that for the prime config, both the AC and ER PPC are mounted in the arms. ARms with lower arm and hand actuators. Now, what would i do if some jumping mech jumps behind me. I flip and fire. With the GR, if the mech is too close, i get penalties to fire...This is partly why i stick to this in the other variants. The other two reasons are there it means less work for the techs to reconfigure them and i'm lazy

Yeah, my neurons take a very long route before reaching their target.

The LB-20X isn't going to flip anywhere, is it? It's got a critical slot in the torso, thus it's restricted to the forward firing arc.

Oh dang yeah.. oh well, no matter. I still like it in the arms anyhow
Kinda shoots my arguments up somewhat.

The problem with prime is that with the gauss it looses the PPC and all forward facing backup lasers. The AC is short-ranged and the laser in head isn't much better. Maybe switching the GECM with the lasers from LT would help a little and the CASE can be pod-mounted.
Is there some reason why it has the gauss rifle in all configurations?

Gauss in all configs? Simplicity.. means the lazy Capellan techs don't have to replace it all the time
As for the others, note down what you'll like to see and i'll post a new config (i'll even modify the fluff for free.. yay!)

Maybe I missed a note in the timeline, but when did Capella get the industrial capacity and technological know-how to make this kind of machine?

Assault Mechs: They make the bloody Yu Huang.. It's even MORE high tech.. uses a *&%* XL engine.
OmniMech tech: yeah, the Men Shen.

When did they get the capacity to make THOSE? Last I knew, they were barely hanging on after getting their asses kicked by Davion.

I don't quite agree with how..
but these are probably some factors
a) Xin SHeng! (yay!.. yar right..)
b) Siphoning off the Star League coffers while Sun Tzu was the first lord
c) FWL aid
d) WoB aid
e) It's all on credit
f) all the above.

Just like Erenon says.
a) They found a way to make the peasants work harder.
b) They stole money from the FedSuns.
c) Gifts from the incompetent.
d) Gifts from the insane.
e) It'll bite them on the ass soon enough.
Although I don't quite agree with that last one. Many have complained that the writers were on the FedSuns' side in the past. So the writers are trying to make up for it now by screwing the FedSuns in every way they can, so you know that no consequnces wil ever catch up with the Cappies.
Also, don't forget the Star League vintage factory that the Cappies found and refurbished on Victoria. Perhaps that's where these are made.
