Flawed. Really, really, REALLY flawed.

==Overview:==
With the proliferation of power armor has come a new field of
status symbols: armored bodyguards. Every nobleman, dignitary, and
pop singer in the Inner Sphere wants the kind of attention a squad
of armored troopers garners from a crowd, and the marketing team
at Acme Widgets & Gizmos saw a niche to fill. Soon, the new Merrin
powered suit began to roll off the assembly lines, and into
celebrity's enturages.
==Capabilities:==
As a showpiece the Merrin is exemplary, with sleek lines, glowing
panels, and oversized weapon ports giving the impression that the
warrior within is more than ready to handle any kind of threat.
On the battlefield, however, the Merrin considerably lacks, as
several unfortunate mercenary units have found out at great cost.
A complete lack of jump capability, an unforgivably slow land
speed, and almost paper-thin armor makes Merrin duty on the
battlefield tantamount to a death sentence.

At least its cheap.. actually, if EVERY single infantry man (or at least the veteran and elite ones) get to use this, they might become very effective at causing mechs and vehicles headaches..
Suddenly every trooper is a threat... BUT still easy to kill.

I can see police units wanting this as well...very cheap.

I'd never considered the police angle. I agree that they'd probably like the suit as well. But the military will probably want something more like this...

==Overview:==

After many disastrous reports on the suit's actual combat
effectiveness, however, sales began to plummet. It seems that it
was not the suit itself that was attractive as a status symbol,
but also the fearsomeness of its' combat potential. After several
more years of steadily declining sales, Acme went back to the
drawing board.
==Capabilities:==
The new Merrin is considerably better-looking than the original.
Where the original looked much like a bulky (but still attractive)
environmental suit, the Merrin II is most definately powered
armor. Featuring even an even sleeker form, more glowing panels,
and bigger weapon profiles, the Merrin II looks both stylish and
intimidating.
With a much-enhanced combat package, the Merrin II is considered
to be a cheap-but-effective power suit, infinitely superior to the
old version. An increased ground speed, more armor, and a second
laser system make the Merrin II quite powerful, for the price.

hey this one is better and suit still hasnt exceeded the 300,000 c-bill mark. This is definitely for the military or Security forces with slightly bigger budgets.
The doubled speed, firepower and armor is just great.
