New mech. I hope this suceeds better than my untimely failure with the Annilatior that I put in the TRO a couple weeks ago.

That aside, may I present to you a mech that you dont want to meet in a dark alley, or for that matter, any ally?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
This mech originally started out as a variant of the Annihilator, but after
the potential of the RAC/20 was realised and aquired, it was put on the mech.
Its maker is unknown.

The Annhilation is a ment as an in-fighter, a fact most aptly demonstrated by
its amazingly massive RAC/20. It's profile is dominated by the huge RAC/20
mounted in its torso. It is a 2 barreled weapon that gives the mech a
Fafnir-like profile, 1 large squat gun on each side. However, further study
reveals that they are a bit smaller, and a certanly capaple of unleashing a
deadlier barrage. While appearing to be mounted in both torsos, its actually
in the right torso.

Of corse, being a clan mech, it has case, so the ammo being destroyed is no
worry. To prevent potential ammo loss, the RAC/20 draws from its left torso
ammo bins first, then the CT bins, and finally the bins in the RT. It has no
XL engine and mounts an armored cowel and a reinforced cockpit.

==Capabilities:==
The Annhiliation's RAC/20 provides it unheard of shredding power to anything
unlucky to get close to it, and keeps enough heatsinks to keep a constant
chain of fire out of the RAC, bearing jams. It does have an overheat, but this
is caused when it fires its secondary weapons, only a token of firepower, 2 ER
Medium Lasers, mounted in the right arm. The legs have heatsinks in them, as
well as the entire left arm, giving the arm a somewhat bulky appearance. The
torso boxes are occupied by the RAC/20 and 70 shells.

==Variants:==
There are no variants at this time.

==Deployment==
The Annihilation hasen't been deployed yet.

Not commenting on the 'mech itself, but when did the Clans decide to steal RAC technology from the Davions?

Impressive. I never did manage to employ the RAC/20 in a manner I was happy with. The RAC/10 I managed, but not the 20.

I like this one. It's sort of the ultra Hunchback from hell.

Dependancy on one weapon hurts it, but that doesn't stop it from being damned dangerous.

The Clan RAC, like the armored cowl, is from MechForce UK. They come up with all sorts of stuff, apparently. If you look through the 'Mechs in MegaMek, there'll be a lot of things marked "UK."

UK rules also let you create a half ton hover craft that can ram a battlemech for 50 points of damage.

Really, not the most balanced system. I never understood why UK and North America live on two different rule sets to this day.

How different are these rulesets? I know that they've come up with stuff, and I know that some of it they consider to be level 2, while elsewhere it's level 3. But I didn't know they played inder terribly different rules.

Also, while I'm thinking of it. Delta, do you think you could perhaps use < pre > and < /pre > (without spaces, of course) around your designs, instead of italics? It would make them much easier to read.

well its not so much the rule sets, as the construction rules. The UK rules always struck me as more loose and letting you get away with murder.

Actually, checking back on my notes its half ton V-tols that were tournment legal at one point. The guy who won would field like 200 of them and just keep ramming you for 32 or 50 points of damage a v-tol. Was like being hit mosquitoes that hit harder than guass rifle shells. (circa 3025 to boot)

Also the RAC 10 and 20. With the exception of the Cowl which I love. Almost everything in UK rules was allowing lighter and lighter things to annhilate assault class mechs in a single round. It made the game less a game of strategy and more a game of who had the most units to shoot with.
