Instead of activating a level 3 rule to use this mech. Cheat and install less than 10 heat sinks in it to begin with.

Otherwise, this mech is never going to see use as I don't bother with level 3 rules.

Its got a good in close punch, but like the King Crab anyone with half a brain can beat it. Which is a bad thing. In a city it'd have a hope, but in open country you might as well kiss it good bye.

I was always thought that turning off heat sinks was very much a lvl2, no, lvl1 rule? I only have the origina Master Rules. Page 47, paragraph 2:

Quote:

Shutting Off Heat Sinks: A MechWarrior may actually wish to build up heat in some situations, particularly if his BattleMech is equipped with triple-strength myomer (p.134).

Etc....

Which is better than cheating, right?

And don't forget, this is only the emergency variant of this design! The ONLY intention of this one was to use it in the arenas of Solaris VII, NOWHERE else! So yeah, something seriously weird would have to happen for it to hit the open country. Please review the X3N (and its fluff) to get a full picture of this design!

That rule is covering from what I understand. Heat sinks NOT installed in your engine. So your 11th and up.

Where as you can also just install less than 10 to begin with in your engine. 10 is just the # you get free, and you can have 0 there if you felt you wanted to give someone an edge. For you having less than the maximum # of heat sinks in your engine would have been an bonus because it lets TSM activate.

Lets see what others say.

You can turn off every heat sink you have no matter how many are in the engine, and that is a level 2 rule.

Well thank you Chihawk. Thats a rule I didn't know of. One in awhile it appears I don't know everything;)

Thank you. Sorry, your Kronos would have gotten a better rating if I'd known that ahead of time. I apologize to the designer.

Well that should teach me to learn how to work Temporis so I can go back in time and fix that error.Very Happy

Hey no matter. I only included the X2A to show you guys how I first went about this design. It is to serve as a nice contrast between this and the definite design, the X3N.

You may still not like the X3N, but there is no denying that is the superior design when compared to the X2A!
