==Overview:==
After a long abscense from the Inner Sphere the Winnebago is back. Gm has
resurected the line that used to be a hit with people of ancient terran days.
A slightly modular design the new Winnebago is a interesting piece of work.
The company offeres a wide range of upgrades and additions to for the Motor
home, With a base length of 45 feet long and 9' wide they offer a lot of room
for upgrades. (There are several models that have extendable sides and are
avaliable upon request, one of these has up to 3 side-outs and all will sleep
4 to 6 comfortably)
==Capabilities:==
Originally GM thought of using just a standard I.C.E engine but after doing a
market analysis and talking with people they found that people wanted
something that would be easy to maintain and not run a huge fuel bill (a 200
gallon fuel tank was originally planned, and with fuel prices on the rise and
currentely at over $5 a gallon, well you can imagin the response to that). So
a clean burning fusion engine was installed to power the Mortor Home. This als
o had long term benefits that the company hadnt planned on. I.C.E engines tend
to run loud and can disturb the peace, in addition to the exhaust fumes
produced there were several, environmental agencies that were ready to ban the
vehicle before the first one was completed.
A 4 tons of cargo space was added but broken up into several sections of the
MH, 2 long and deep bins run under the mid section of the vehicle and several
a located inside.
Since these vehicles are ment to act as homes away from home a lot of planning
went into the interiors, with the fold out technology and the starting size of
many of these the list of extras are impressive, and include.Diesel Generator,
Side-by-side Refrigerator, Awning, Awnings All Around, Air Horns, Air
Conditioning, Remote Heated Mirrors, Intermittent Wipers, Water Heater, Solar
Panel, Electric Step, Inside/Outside Shower, TV Antenna, Television, VCR,
Skylight, Free Standing Table and Chairs, Thermo Windows, Fantastic Exhaust
Fan, Smoke Detector.
The sheer power of these vehicles is at times overwhelming, Many of them come
with trailer hitches as standard equipment and a matching tow trailer is also
avaliable for many of these vehicles with all of the same amenities.
Overall the Winnebago project is comming along nicely and orders are pouring
in for the vehicles at an alarming rate.
==Variants:==
Varients are allready to numerous to mention. And several planets are
purchasing a very base model and customizing it even further for the benefit
of the consumer.
Several have been bought and refitted for Special forces duty. And these are
also getting facelifts for command posts as they provide a bit more flexibilty
than the standard Mobil HQ.
Some minor changes to the Winnebago for the Special forces version. A XL
engine takes place of the standard fusion, This allows heavier armor to be
mounted (it dosent change the outer look) and improved computer gear is added
along with a slightly smaller cargo bay, (also optional). Everything was
worked to escape detection form a port authority (most of the changes are very
suttle and will not be noticed, infact, with the additional shielding for
computer equipment they only way to find most of the new gear is by taking
apart the unit alltogether. something not normally condoned.)
