The 'mech packs are purchased separately. I personally don't think they are worth the money, as the 'mechs they contain are only useable in multiplayer and scenario battles.

I agree. It only gives you a few mechs.Just stick with the original.

Screw the 'Mech Paks. They're a crappy gimmick and a waste of money. If they were useable in single player, they'd be great. But they never tell you that they're not. Learn from my wasted money: don't do the same.

On the other hand, if you want 'Mechs, go to MekTek. Mek Pak 2 came out some time ago. You might need Mek Pak 1; I had it when I got MP2, so I really don't know. I won't insult your intelligence by giving the MP1 link as well; besides, I don't feel like looking for it.

Besides, the Mech Packs seem (if I remember correctly) to get some of the designs wrong. A 90-ton Hunchback and 80-ton Dragon come to mind.

No, they're not that screwed. The Dragon is 60 tons, the Hunchback 50. They managed to get the tonnages right. And I suppose I could forgive them for putting a heavy gauss on the arm of the Dragon. But wait. Why does a Dragon have an HGR in the first place?
