Since I couldn't submit the design to the TRO section (you'll see why), I decided to submit it here.

==Overview:==
Designed as part of a joint effort between the Federated Commonwealth and the
Draconis Combine, the Rexxar is fast, powerful deep-strike 'mech.

==Capabilities:==
The Rexxar has one major improvement over more conventional designs: it is
manufactured with 10 tons of empty space in a modular hardpoint housed inside
the left torso. This hardpoint, while not true Omni-tech, allows the Rexxar to
be outfitted for many different functions in support of its primary role. A
Rexxar might be employed as a mobile barrage vehicle mounting an AC/5 one day,
and can be used as a direct-fire assault machine the next, simply by switching
out weapon systems in the hardpoint. 

The 'mechs primary punch is provided by a Lord's Thunder PPC, augmented by a
Victory Nickel Alloy Extended-Range Large Laser. 

Short range power is supplied by the superb Victory Heartbeat Medium Pulse
Laser, with point-defense covered by a single Victory Throb Small Pulse Laser.

==Deployment==
The Rexxar is currently being deployed across the Commwealth and the Combine,
with the majority seeing assignment to the clan front. A limited number are
also being sold to trusted mercenary groups.

Interesting idea and one that I think would be welcome as a cheaper alternative to Omni tech for some of the Houses and merc units.

Also as a fast attack/raid mecch the 10 tons could be used for ammo,epuipment/supplies taken during a raid. Even people with the prpoer shielding for heat.

-edit- Figure maybe 3-5 tons for heat shielding and the rest in infantry? Maybe with the 10 tons you could put 2 stars of battlearmor in there so they don't get blasted apart during combat then open up and let them swarm an opposing mech/tank.

This would be a good raider in the periphery. Have a couple of these in the unit and pack that extra 10 tons of space with stolen ammo. Leaves the hands free to pick up other useful salvage items.
