Hi guys. Can any of you direct me towards a link where I can download the Windows (XP) start- and shut down-sounds called 'Utopia'. I remember my parents having that on an old computer of theirs, and I'm getting sick of the same old sound on mine.
And no, I don't want to use any other music, I want to my PC to greet me like the PC he is!!!
Thanks in advance for any and all help. _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior

There was a link somewhere on that page, even if you might have to copy-paste it into your browser.

I used to have my computer start up by playing Darth Vader's quote: "What is thy bidding, my master?"

Well I feel rather silly for saying this but my computer actually yells out "Moon Prism Power!" as it boots up... _________________ "I love deadlines. I especially love the 'whooshing' sound they make as they fly by" ~ Douglass Adams Happiness is biting your bird back.

I though the XP default sound was a little old, so I downloaded a sound clip from Patton, with George C. Scott.
After the sixth time my computer started with "To-The-Colors!" suddenly the default sound wasn't so bad. _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

My friend rigged his computer to play the "When will then be now?" scene from Spaceballs whenever he shutdown. He ordered cable internet, and when the tech guy came to install the stuff, he laughed the first time he had to shutdown and reboot my friends computer. After about 5 or 6 reboots, the laughter got quieter and quieter, until finally he asked in a somewhat annoyed voice "Do you mind if I shut off the sounds for now?"

now for a cheezy but impressive sound, especially if you have a good speaker setup, go with the THX sound test. You know, the one they do at the movie theater....
My speakers rattle the windwos just form the bass on that one.........and the street lights tend to dim a bit when I activate my comp
