Most certainly not. Aliens would screw up everything about BattleTech. Hell, aliens would be even worse than Dork Age is now.
In fact, aliens were the main problem with Far Country. The book that everyone hated, because it had little enough to do with BattleTech.
So no, no aliens, not ever.

I personally think aliens could have been cool, if it was done right. Of course, explaining why the aliens had 'mechs might be a bit tough...perhaps they came across some deep periphery human colony and discovered 'mech technology from them.
The whole universe is just broken beyond repair at this point though. _________________ "The enemy's gate is down."

So there's no point in doing anything with it. They should just leave it as it stands....of course they won't, but anything else they do just adds more damage. _________________ "The enemy's gate is down."

Aliens will hardly make sense in BT, since BT is almost like a mirror what humans have doing the last couple of centuries.
Crusader Clans = The Crusades anyone ?

ugh... another bad idea that bombed once in hte past (Far Country).
Personally I've got a GM who I play with who keeps threatening to bring the Aliens from AVP over to battletech just to teach us biology beats tech.

I think the clans are alien enough. Having non-human aliens would be very not fitting to the Battletech universe, to put it mildly. The other replies explain why.

I remember a link online somewhere refuting that biotech is better than normal tech.. i'll try and source it out for you to refute him with

But if the aliens killed all the clanner scum and then went away? Wouldn't that be perfect?
edit: plot. Because all that high tech isn't really developed by clan scientists. A colony of ex-military, devastated by civil war, starvation and genocide is NOT a likely source of anything but Mad Max - type inventions. They stole it all from aliens that tried to help them, and now it's time to pay.
