==Overview:==
Hidden under the designator "Project Mastermind," this frightening
version of the Atlas has been confirmed as being in limited production in the
Federated Suns. Unlike most versions which focus on the combat aspects of the
mech, this version does the exact opposite - it makes the unit a command
platform.
To compensate for the loss of the massive Autocannon/20, a RAC/2 has been
installed in its place. The LRM 20 launcher has been broken up into four LRM 5
launchers, and CASE has been installed in both torsos. The arm-mounted lasers
have been upgraded to larges, and in place of the SRM 6 another medium laser
has been added to the torso. This version of the mech boasts a C3 Master
system, an Angel ECM system, and a dual cockpit module.

The very first prototype of this unit lacked the dual cockpit
construction; rather, the unit boasted an extra ton of sensor gear. As only
one of the test pilots was able to process the excess data by himself, the
decision was made to remove the extra sensor equipment.
