==Overview:==
In late 3061 Nais weapons started to acquire design prints for unique and often
maligned battlemech designs, One of the designs was a draconis combine design
called the Ronin, a scout/forward observation mech that was a ill received by
the troopers assigned to it. A light weapons package and heavy electronics
package, coupled with a less than desirable top speed made the Ronin a chancy
proposition at best when it came to head to head confrontations.
When the research team got a hold of the blue prints and a working design of
the mech (purchased at a high price) they went to work on redesigning the unit
to see what could be done to improve on the design.

==Capabilities:==
First off the redesign team worked on the overall top speed the TSM was
removed and replaced with MASC this freed up enough space to add a new
supercharger to the torso as well, these minor changes increased the over all
top speed by 43Km/h. With a top speed now of 97.2 Km/h the Lone wolf (as it
was redesignated) can now put distance between its self and most pursuit.
After this was done they went back in and reworked the gyro and switched it
out with a heavy duty gyro.
Second thing changed was the weapon systems. No new weapons were added,
they were replaced by NAIS weapons versions that are equal to the clan
designs. A ER Large and a pair of ER mediums replaced the old weaponry. To
help with the added heat the design now mounts 10 double heat sinks.
The third thing changed was the head assembly. The Armored cowl was
removed and replaced with a Tag system. the small cockpit was left the same,
to keep room for the tag null and blue shield.
In an odd move by the Draconis Combine the C3 was left in the breast of
the machine, initially this was a major problem to over come. Nais not having
the ability to produce either the C3 master or the C3 slave unit. By mid 3062
a trade agreement had been worked out between them and every 4 months a small
shipment of C3's are sent to Nais Weapons for a shipment of weapons. The
Blood hound probe and the Angel ECM were left the same.


==Battle History:==
The biggest drawback to the design has been the price tag at 35.5 million
c-bills each they are moving slowly to units. In a move to boost sales the
Lone wolf is being paired with the Devil battlemech (another NAIS design) with
lease options set up that offer a greatly reduced price. It is recommended
that the lance not be broken up as Devil compliments the Lone Wolf perfectly.

==Overview:==
Designed using the same chassis as the Atlas the Devil is intended as a deep
infiltration/hunter mech. Using the same shoulder assembly as the Atlas the
Devil is able to lift more than normal and even more when the Triple Strength
Mynomer is activated the unit was able to lift in tests up to 55 tons for
short times. (Generally after this was done the entire shoulder assemblies
needed to be replaced, so it is not recommended to attempt this on a regular
basis.)

The third mech to walk off of the assembly lines at the newly opened NAIS
Weapons LLC. The Devil has some interesting design features, to enhance the
fearsome look of the Devil the unit was molded after a old computer game
creature called "The Planar Daemon" for a came called Everquest. So minor
altering was needed for the legs, and a radical new design feature was
incorporated for the jump jets. The jump jets actually are funneled through
exhaust pole vents that extend from the back of the machine about 4 meters and
every time the jump jets are fired it actually gives the impression of wings
and with the directional vanes it gives the impression of flapping.

Critics opposed to the design of the unit from the beginning stated that the
ultra high price tag and the mechs very nature, as a covert unit, mean that
the unit will see very little action, and with its current weapons load out it
cant deliver a knockout punch. Supporters have stated that in simulations the
unit has performed as expected and when hunting with other Devils there is
very little that can stand in the way of them.

==Capabilities:==
The ability to hide its self through the use of the Null Signature system was
deemed to be of the utmost importance as the mission profile of the Devil is
of the covert nature. Being a command mech and or structure hunter, the Devil
is intended to be deployed deep behind enemy lines searching for command
mechs, Mobile HQ's and even static HQ and destroy them. Very few expenses were
held for the unit as it is hoped to be a showpiece for the newly built
company.

Survivability was deemed the most important factor in designing the unit so
NWL went with a Standard engine and Gyro package were used to ensure
survivability. Another interesting feature was the inclusion of armor
components for almost every major system, From the engine to the actuators
were armored to they can withstand multiple hits from an opponent and
hopefully allow the Devil to escape after fulfilling its mission. 3 Jump jets
were added to allow the Devil to achieve a jump capability of 90 meters. Full
armor was used to provide as much protection as possible.

The weapons used were picked for their range and hitting power. All of the
weapons used were manufactured at NWL and are the equivalent of Clan weapons
in every way. NWL has just finally started mass producing their version of the
clan weapons and so far the orders for the new weapons have gone through the
roof. Oddly enough the weapons are mounted on the shoulders of the mech and
are mounted in turrets with give the unit a full 360 degree firing field. In
simulated tests this gave the Devil a unique advantage along with its agility
to really throw off and enemies ability handle the unit.

==Deployment==
In an odd move NWL has reduced the price of the unit and is selling the Devil
to any buyer. (Infact to Yvonne Davion they were being offered as a 2 for one
deal with the strict promise that the mechs would be used as a full lance and
given to only the elite mechwarriors.) Several have already found their way
into the hands of Mercenaries, and it is rumored that the Davion Heavy guard
is now in possession of 2 full lances of the new assault mech.

Critics still stats that the mechs high price tag and apparent lack of a
knockout weapon will severely hamper it in its given mission profile.
