------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
When Kallon Industries announced that they were considering reviving the
old J. Edgar hovercraft, it caught more than a few people by surprise. The J.
Edgar had long since gone out of production, and even while it was in
production it was never a popular machine.
As near as can be figured, an employee of Kallon Industries uncovered a
copy of the schematics in an old archive somewhere (we have yet to determine
where). As no other company was actively producing it, it was generally agreed
that the manufacture rights had long since expired. With this, the staff began
to tinker with the machine.
==Capabilities:==
The first thing that was decided upon was that the weapons load needed to
be more powerful in order to attract more attention. As such, the twin SRM
racks were replaced with an LRM 5, and the lone medium laser was replaced with
a large. To do this, the machine was made slightly slower, and some armor was
removed. As the machine now mounts ferro-fiborous armor, it is not so much of
a loss. However, pilots of the original will know the difference.
==Deployment==
The unit is still in the prototype stage; however, a handful of smaller
mercenary units have expressed interest in the unit as it would provide them
with cheap fire support capable of going for extended periods without ammo
re-supply. A handful of Davion units assigned to garrison back-water planets
have also expressed interest. It is unknown at this time, however, if there is
sufficient interest for Kallon to keep the machine in production.

Cost a little high.. but it looks like a good fast hovercraft.
I won't mind having some of these little guys around.
