Overview:
Stormvanger Assemblies first placed the CP-10-Z Cyclops into
production in 2710. Designed as a heavy assault vehicle for use in
assault lances, the Cyclops also proved a favorite among headquarters
troops in higher-echelon formations. With its sophisticated
holographic Tacticon B-2000 battle computer and its planet-wide
communications capability, the heavy 'Mech proved highly useful in
this role. Except when the Cyclops is part of an assault lance,
tactical doctrine usually places it in the reserve, where it can
coordinate and support the overall actions of the other BattleMechs
in its command. At regimental level and higher, the commander's
Cyclops are usually guarded by a headquarters lance and supporting
units.
The only major complaint by many was the Cyclops weak armor in
comparision to other mechs of its class. Also many felt that the
Cyclops is a little undergunned for a 90 mech. Now after many
centuries, StormVanger has decided to give the Cyclops a massive
overhaul.

Capabilities:
The Cyclops was designed primarily as a heavy assault 'Mech, but
its sophisticated communications and information network equipment
make it equally valuable as a command vehicle. In battlefield
situations, the 'Mech is capable of coordinating up to an entire
BattleMech regiment with the B-2000 computer on line. It easily
maintains planet-wide and orbital communications using the Olmstead
840 tight beam comm system and satellite assistance.

The new Cyclops' weaponry is designed to defend itself at long range.
With a pair of Zeus Slingshot Gauss rifle, the Cyclop is capable of
disabling and can seriously cripple a group of even the heaviest
mechs. With a total of 4 tons of ammo, the Cyclops has sufficient
amount of ammunition for a extended battle. Backing up the Gauss
rifles is a quad of Diverse Optics ER medium Lasers. This quad serve
as a effective deterrent against many of the smaller scout mechs.
Aside from the weapons package, the Cyclops now feature a C3
Master computer which dramatically improves its abilities as part of
the command lance. This even allows the Cyclops to engage in battle
using its Gauss Rifles in supporting the attack. Another electronics
package is the ECM. This small electronic package can easily foil
other electronic packages the enemy might be using, which increases
the Cyclops survivability.

The decision to use both Endo Steel and XL engines has raise a
few eyebrows on some who question the mech's survivability on the
field. In order to silence the critics, Stormvanger added another 7.5
tons of armor onto the mech's frame boosting, giving it enough armor
to more than compete with other assault mechs. All this without
affecting the mech's speed which is considered above average
for its class.

Deployment:
Due to the massive cost at nearly 26 million C-Bills, no Houses
will ever buy this Cyclops at large quantity. However Stormvanger is
confident that the Great Houses will eventually buy a few of these
Cyclops for their brightest and most experienced battle commanders;
The weaponary, C3 Master Computer and much much reinforced armor is
more than enough for some.

Known Variants:
CP-12C
This basically reduces the engine power and dropping the mech's
top speed to 54km/h. In this variant, a standard engine is used
instead, making the mech cheaper but alot slower.
