I was wondering if anyone else has come across the following in their years of playing. This just freaked me out:

I am running a campaign with 3 friends who have varying levels of experience (one has played for awhile, one is a gamer, but little BT experience, and one is a Mech Commander guru). They have started a merc company and we were playing their second contract. The game was progressing well when I noticed a pattern emerging. An hour later, the same pattern was occurring and I mentioned it to the others. This is where the freakishness happened. Jeff, the player with the experience, was using a Trebuchet to provide fire support. However every single LRM launch he made ended up missing. No matter what the to-hit modifiers were (from 5 to 11), he could not roll a hit. We changed dice repeatedly (7 different sets), but no luck. However, when he got into range with the medium lasers, he rarely missed. I think we are going to call him "Sure Shot" from now on. The thing is, the previous game, he was using one of the units Riflemen and kept jamming the autocannons. Yet, the large lasers burned true 8 times out of 10. Bizarre......

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Seraph and I actually had that happen to us on Monday. One of the mechs I played (would have to look at the sheets at home to remember which one) had 4 med lasers. The furst 4 rounds of firing them not a single one hit.

I have had that happen many times. Some days I can roll every piloting roll but not a single hit and others that everything hits, but the first time I take 20 damage I fall over because I rolled snake eyes. I have found that odd how those things happen sometimes.

I have a Annihilator nightwolf and a Gladiator (both my own variants). Both use two large weapon systems backed up by medium lasers,

The Gauss rifles and AC20's ALWAYS missed, even once with a to hit of 3! The medium lasers always seemed to hit.

It is so frustrating, the Gladiator with the 2 LBX-AC20's nearly lost to a damn Dervish! The Annihilator was killed by a Dragon! My elite team was destroyed by some of the most maligned mechs!

You know mordel...it might help if you were not so hung over every time you climb into the cockpit. The drunken swagger is not a valid style of 'mech piloting...although I guess the erratic gait might make you a more unpredictable target

Perhaps this MechWarrior is near-sighted! Try letting him pilot a Cyclops to see if it helps.

When using any mech or tank with a gauss rifle I find that I cannot hit unless my to hit is 10+. Also my streak launchers will never lock unless they can throw my heat through the roof.

UACs dont like me. When I use them in standard mode, they work like a charm. As soon as I annouce Ultra mode....JAM!!!!! Doesnt matter how many other shots Ive taken in standard mode, those blankity blanking blank-of-a-blanking things always jam up on me.
I had a Naginata that was cutting loose with its LRMs on a Fire Moth. Thats 45 LRMs aimed at 20 tons of nothing. NOT A SINGILE MISSILE HIT THE %$&#!-ing THING!!

I've hit my own people with Swarm missles as often as I've hit the enemy. I hate the damn things...

LB AC's don't like me.. i'm normally on the wrong end of them and they tend to hit me in the head.. practically every shot. bleah.

My opponent and I just finished up a Campaign. He had a 30% advantage and never seemed capable of pulling off anything.

He was playing as house steiner. He was down to roughly equal forces as my battered Draconis Combine Force.

15 of his mechs attack into a small city to reorganise and reshuffle. Trying to break past my cordon of units. Steiner forces are a mix of a 5 elites, with a 5 green, a pair of vets, and 3 regulars.

Now this seems like a lost cause, since I'm defending a standard map city which is kinda loosely rural type variation. Hot Hammer is Elite piloted.

My Veteran forces hold the edge of the city for a few rounds before backpedalling into the city itself.

Total damage = 1 disabled Steiner Thorn and one of his elite pilots without a ride. NO DAMAGE to Draconis Combine Forces.

14-4 now

Medium range sniping as one of my Warhammers tries to hold the right flank and prevent 3 of his units from surrounding me.

Total Damage = One heavily damaged Steiner Hammer with both LRM 5s destroyed, and Heavy Damage to the other Steiner Hammer. Light damage to Steiner Anvil. Heavy Armour Damage, Light Internal Damage to my Warhammer as it pulls back into my city.

Both Hammer's (Vet pair) withdraw
12-4

Left Flank is held by my hot hammer and one of the Crusaders. 5 Mechs oppose them.

Thunderbolt goes down to a ammo bin crit, the Anvil goes down to a PPC cockpit crit, Initiate goes down with center torso blown out. Hunchback gets into slugging match with my Hot Hammer, both get heavy armour damage and pull back. The remaining initiate and my Crusader Tangle for a round or two and manage light armour damage on each other.

Total Damage = 3 Steiner Mechs down for the count, 1 Withdrawn (3 Regulars and Elite Hunchback Pilot gone). Both Kurita mechs retreat to city center.

8-4

In the Center His 6 Mechs fight in a forest against my last mech a CDR-3R Crusader. Steiner forces are trying to hold me here or something hoping to win the battle on the flank as they never advance closer than medium range and continue firing from cover and acting indecisive.

As far as I can piece together, The Wasp did nothing but jump around... The rest of the mechs fired hapzardly.

Total Damage in the 20-30 turns this happened....

Lots of empty ammo bins. 10 Points of damage on the Blackjack, and maybe 18 points of damage on my Crusader.

Battle ends

Anvil, Hammer, Initiate, Thorn, Thunderbolt all left on the field as House Steiner ends their disasterous assault, upon the defenceless planet guarded by the horribly hammered Black Lightning Merc unit (Baker's Dozen Mech unit/Company of Aerotech) and 2 horribly mauled Battalion of Draconis Combine Militia, and a hell of a lot of POWs by now. The REGIMENT OF FEDERATED COMMONWEALTH troops retreats with a battalion of mechs functional and a battalion of mechs/vehicles in gutted/partial repair.

About the only good news was that neither side lost any aero tech/dropships.

On Monday Seraph had that problem. He won about 7--80% of the initiatives, but was unable to hit anything that he shot at. His Awesome went 4 rounds of firing before he hit my Charger. When he did hit, he only got me with one of hit PPCs. On the other hand, I kept losing the initiative, but 80-90% of my weapons were hitting.
