Friends,
CBT is down for the count. Scapehost shut us down permanently and deleted everything. This was due to using more bandwidth than allowed plus other things.
We are in the midst of moving it back to EvilNet temporarily. We are working on getting a permanent host now. Please be patient. Thanks

How much bandwidth are you guys using a month? More for my own curiosity than anything. But considering I pay $13.95/month for this site (and have paid almost every month since at least 1993) it isn't asking THAT much for folks there to pony up a few bucks each and find a good host with the right stuff. It's embarrassing for the fans to see the site so out of control.

Actually, it was not bandwidth that killed us, it was CPU and disk access from the main board. We were actually only hitting about 60% our bandwidth allotment. _________________ Happyness is just a word to me

Maybe you guys need to find a better alternative for your forums. I'm a big advocate of phpBB. I know you've got a large user base and the forums are accessed frequently, but phpBB is one of the most streamlined forums I've seen. Nothing is better than open-source, in my opinion.

Using a different messageboard is one of several things we're looking at.
Problem is that we've managed to build a nice community over the last couple of years, so we need to take care to not disrupt that too heavily.

Nothing really wrong with php, but I really like vBullletin 3.0.3 boards. The "jump to newest unread" is especially useful for long threads. I don't have to scroll down and hope to see the red bar before it flies past me. What can I say? I'm lazy.

Course we do. We'd just loose some time.

If that's a condition of such a donation, then I'm afraid we're going to have to decline.
Seriously though, we're looking hard at options. We already were, now we just rushed in to things more. Which means any transition might not go as smooth as planned, but we'll get there.
I hate to say it for the Nth time, but once again, we're required to request your patience.
Sorry guys. Work in progress.
Paul
