Thank you. And as it is only a Stinger that is what it is ment for. Adding a XL makes it way to fragile for a light. if I was to change anything I would add a Light Fusion. But even then that is iffy. In my opinion Scout mechs shouldnt be trying, or encuraged to stay in the fray. A couple shots to discourage followers but that is it.

I'd certainly follow Seraph's advice and sacrifice some armor for another laser. Double weapons load, and you already have the heat sinks to handle it.

Umm why? Sorry I dont see how adding a weapon in favor of armor improves the survivability of a mech that should be trying to avoid combat.

With the speed your Stinger moves and the loadout it has, I think you can remove the double heatsinks and install regular ones. With the space savings you could add ferro fibrous armor and drop either one or a half ton of armor. You end up with 54 or 63 armor points respectively. The extra ton or half ton could be used to add a medium or small laser.
Or you could use the savings to add some electronics like TAG. Nice and speedy but not fast enough for it's limited weapon load. A Jenner can keep up with it and out guns it massively. A spider can go faster and carries twice the weapons. If your Stinger came across another scout/recon unit that was as fast or faster it could get taken down. Maybe if you had the weight after the mod I suggested you could fit a larger engine in it to up it's speed to 8/12/8?

I would agree with Seraph. This machine is just a mobile laser. That's not necessarily bad. But no machine can avoid battle forever, and against another 'Mech, this one lacks firepower. And running is fine, until you are running from either a scout or a scout killer.

That is the role my 35 ton Frog fills in. At 9-14-9 it carries 3 times the weapons.

The Stinger is a good scout, but still could use some tweaking to increase the survivability against other scouts and those hunter killers like the Spider as mentioned in the previous posts.

I like the idea of making room for ferro and adding another laser or electronics to help protect it.

I still dont like it 2 weapons encourages can encourage a pilot to stay in the fray when they should infact try to get away.

I prefer this one a big more. even though it only has one weapon and a XL its a more effective SCOUT.

There ya go. I like both of those. Adding the extra laser makes in more dangerous and for the 2nd model, making it faster makes it harder to hit and thus increases survivability.

I like the two directions you took the design. One is faster but packs the same punch and the other is same speed but can hit harder. A Spider pilot would take that much longer to decide to engage if he knew you matched his firepower and the other would leave the Spider in his dust.
BTW....What is a Null Signature System?

It add a +4 to all gunnery checks mady by an opposing unit. Basically what id does in game is funnel all the heat down through the feet making it very hard to target. So anyone targeting the Stinger would have to with the Null activated add +4 then add all of the other modifiers. Its ond of the few Items I find a must for light mechs.

it is also part fo the Executioner fluff (wasnt named in the text but the system was refered to IIRC).

Specifically, what the system does under level three rules is take up one critical in each location, and double the range penalities when targetting the 'Mech. (IIRC, it might have just been +4) On the downside, it generates 10 heat every turn when activated.

The Level 2 version can be seen in House Liaos Stealth Armor, which isn't as good because it requires an ECM system and internal criticals for the armor about the same amount as if it were ferro, but otherwise it functions the same as the Null Signature System.

Then you use a differrent targeting system other than by heat signature. Like their magsans or even optical.

Supposedly, the Null Sig system also messes with MagScan readings. The Exterminator was also equipped with a polarized light shield in it's armor that made it harder to spot. Very advanced 'Mech, the Star League Exterminator.
