i got an idea for improving head protection
how about a reinforcment attachment that adds say 1.5 times the normal armor and takes up one critical and weighs an extra .5 ton per ton of armor added (round down)
Skull reinforcment crits ton armor
1 .5* 1.5 times current
*per ton armor
whats the word C,C,C, please

There's the Level 3 Armored Cowl from MechForce UK... Adds five points of head armor, takes one critical slot and weighs one ton. IIRC it didn't work against hits from straight in front of you, but don't quote me on that.

The cowl is your best bet, and by far the cheapest Improvement, unless you are one those "Imortaly Brave" Mech Pilots that have Torso Mounted Cockpits, that that case, who the freak cares whats in the head... other than weapons and a few pips of armor.

Wouldn't hardened armor also help?
