Woohoo! Just played my first every classic battletech game! The master rules book could do with an index page. Or we will have to print out the relevant sheets.
Lineup: 2 Players
my forces:- Behemoth, Vixen
opponent:- Kodiak, Koshi B
I won in the end. Left his kodiak with no arms and no right torso. Koshi B had taken no damage. We called it a night as it was quite late.
Spent most of the time trying to lure the Koshi B and Kodiak from behind the shoe box so that my Behemoth could snipe with the 2xgauss and 2x L P Ls.
I kept winning initiative, and managed to whittle down the Kodiaks armor for about 4 turns with my Vixen, before I started losing initiative, and had to try and lure my opponent into the range of my Behemoth.
The Kodiak lost the Right torso (and therfore the right arm) as he fired everything and cooked off his ac ammo. He only went all out to test the Kodiak and to try and get the game towards a close.
I took out his left arm with my Vixen, and managed to see what criticals do.
The Colemans Horseradish jar served as excelent cover.
That was immensely fun. I look forward to playing some more in the time to come
Which team would you have your money on for winning, and what tactics would you use?
I'd like to see what other things I could have done.

not many of us use the miniatures rules like that. I play on hex maps myself. Also we have a game played online several times a week (ongoing campaign) that you could join after learning the controlls of the MegaMek program (download our client at:
ftp://ftp.dubrin.net/pub/mordelbng/client.zip or ftp://ftp2.dubrin.net/client.zip
and feel free to join. Read the game starting thread posted by myself for more information.

Well we dont actually have any hex maps at present. I've been and downloaded some today, but its going to be a bit of a pain printing them out so they are the right size. Also I don't know when the next time I am going to get to play is.
Unfortunately I can't read up on the Master rules, as I don't personally have a copy of them.
Using actual objects makes working out line of sight easier to comprehend IMO, but I have only played the game once.
When I do move onto hex maps, I would prefer to have modded hex maps, so that they are actually 3D. That will be a while.
I am not going to get on MegaMek for a long while, and I have read the thread you posted before. When I am ready to join, if in fact I do decide to join the game, I will read it again.
I enjoyed the game and look forward to having time to play it again.

Welcome to the addicted world of BT!
A very interesting use of canned goods, contents of the fridge and other items. Very inventive!
I personally would have chosen the Behemoth and Vixen, just because I like those to mechs.
If you are looking to buy some maps, I know someone who looking to sell some of their BT stuff (extra items). I know he has at least a couple of maps to get rid of. I would have bought them from him, but I already have 3 of each map.
Let me know.

Alright!! Fresh Mea..errr....a new player.
Welcome to the game, Bullfrog. A copy of BMR and First Strike will be your best friends, actually. The rest of the stuff is gravy. And actually, you can post opinions about mechs in the Technical Readout section, earn some credits, and buy game stuff right off this website. Ive done it twice and loved it. Especialy seeing as how I have no job right now (move to Canadia, sit on your thumbs, wait for the paperwork).
If nothing else, check out Ebay for stuff there. Theyve got just about everything youll need, including minis.
Enjoy the ride, man. Look forward to trading ammo with ya!

I have to agree, I like the use of kitchen accoutrements. Welcome to the world of BT.
