I'm gonna list 2 contracts here and I want to know which you guys would choose. These contracts were created using a computer program called Mercenary Contract Generator. Do not go by any bias to the faction you are aligned with here, instead choose as if you were the merc unit.

Contract 1:
Capellan Confederation
Planetary Assault (Against IS)
7 months term
8.10x Pay Multiplier
Straight Support: 65%
Battle Loss Compensation: 10%
DS/JS Compensation: 23%
Commercial Compensation: 40%
Salvage Rights: Exchange
House Command

Contract 2:
Federated Commonwealth (FedSuns)
Planetary Assault (Against Clans)
4 months term
7.02x Pay
Straight Support: 60%
Battle Loss Compensation: 10%
DS/JS Compensation: 18%
Commercial Compensation: 40%
Salvage Rights: Shared
Integrated Command

I vote the second. reason why:
1] i hate house liao.
2] command. the thing i hate more then working for Liao is being commanded by them.
3] possible clan tech... aka: big bucks on the open market.
4] i hate house liao.

even though i'm a born and breed Kurita, as a mercenary, i would rather work for the FC then Liao. Atleast its a shared command. meaning i am not gonna be Sun Tzu's little [explitative matching witch].

As the commander of a merc group the second one is a much more lucrative contract. The possibility of clan tech salvage alone is a big perk, not to mention that you actually have a say in what your unit is going to be doing. Also the term of the contract is shorter meaning I can turn around and get another contract(hence more cred) possible in the same span as the first contract. Two the clans aren\'t as likely to hold a grudge against you for fighting them; in fact they may respect you more if you put in a good showing. Try getting a good contract from one of the IS houses whom you've just fought against in a previous assignment.

I of course voted in my own poll as well, and I agree with both previous statements and have gone with the second contract. No one wants to be Sun Tzu's little B****, and Clan Tech more than makes up for the difference in pay multiplier.

I'd also go with the 2nd one. It's a bit riskier because you're up against the Clans, but they pay is actually higher since it's a shorter contract. It also promises a better payoff (should you survive) with salvage. Finally, as has already been stated, command rights are invaluable. Oh, one more thing, I hate Liao...

I too vote for number 2. Not that I'd really be considering that unless I'm commanding several regiments, but... Killing clanners is always a nice bonus on a contract.

I voted for the second Contract. The main reason is I don't like giving up my rights of command to anyone, let alone one of those insane individuals from the Capellan Confederacy...

And I'd take salvage from the Clans over anything that the Cappies could dish out...

I would go for contract 2. Although the pay modifier isn't as good i like the intergrated command structure idea. Most of the other details are little different.

Accept the salvage, how i missed that i would never know!

Bit riskier as clan are nasty. Also i would never work for Liao, as far as i can remember, they tend to dislike mercs, usually end up using them as mech fodder

But what about McCarron's? they are a merc unit, or am I mistaken?

Capellan Confederation had a few merc forces I recall.
McCarron's Armored Cavalry, Ambermarle's Highlanders, Bullard's Armored Cavalry, Clifton's Rangers, 15th Dracon, 4th Tau Ceti Rangers, and a few more.....
And I was under the impression that Kurita had the anti merc thing for a while because of Wolf's Dragoons??
And the Rasalhague Republic dislikes them currently I think.

You do all know the difference between Integrated and House commands right? Cause you all seem to have a misconception of integrated command.
House command:
A regular house officer is placed as a superior to the unit as a whole, and can dictate stratey and tactics.

Integrated Command:
The employer assigns regular officers to most of the mercenary unit's comand positions. So figure on anything captain and above is replaced by the employer's officers, totaly displacing your command structure.

Even with that i take #2, cause the Davions are good military and are way more trustworthy too.

Also McCarrons is no longer Merc, they became a regular liao unit during the Xin Sheng project.

I went for #1 for several reasons:

-Honestly I don't know much about Classic Battletech yet so its a bit hard to judge.

-I havn't formed an opinion on Liao, so I don't mind working for them as long as I don't get assassinated by the Mask.

-The numbers add up better than the second contract. Better pay over a longer amount of time.

-My command structure is not completely messed up. I take orders, and pass them along to my officers. Sounds good to me.

-Would be my first ever contract, so working for 7 months, gives me pay for 7 months and I don't have to go routing for another contract very quickly.

-The Clans are a bit tough, so for a green unit, I don't think its a terribly good idea to go up against them.

-I can't comment on the salvage rights as I don't understand the differance between them, but at first glance #1 seems marginally better.
