I've been trying to get ahold of more info, but it would appear that WotC will be releasing a Transformers CCG sometime this September.

(note: earlier message said WK instead of WotC. Sorry.)

What I'm thinking is that depending how this works out, they may just do one for G. I. Joe. And if that one works out,.... well, it won't be long before 'My Little Pony.' (Both Hasbro's and Sunbow Animation's three biggest titles of the 80's.)

Sales on CCG stuff has fallen through the floor. My FGS used to order tens of cases of MTG, now gets in only a few boxes and they sit there for a while.

Hate to say it but I think table top games, RPG's, and card games are slowly being replaced by PC versions.

Which is a shame as the experience won't be quite the same and the bonds forms and friends made won't be quite the same.

But hey if I can ever play something like the ultimate version of something like Neveron or Megatek and have my fleet of warships fight in system so my friends can drop the mechs and get to the ground I'd be stoked.

To me CCG have always been nothing but a fad, and as such don't last very long.

Board games and RPGs are still on the upswing here in central Massachusetts, with several of the local gaming stores increasing their orders monthly on many of the "core" games.

I think the upswing may be because the computer games are so hot--many are being introduced to these types of games and are now enjoying them with others on a table top.

Just my opinion, but the future of gaming looks pretty bright from where I stand.

Is there any truth to the rumor that a person in Florida killed himself because his character lost everything to a thief in Everquest?

Hope BADD does not hear about it. That's all I need is another war with them.

If that's true than mental illness killed that person, not Evercrack.

Yeap Everquest killed him. Wasn't the seizures, the depression, or his multiple personality. Nope just evil game.

Excuse me I gotta go see what the sand giant at my door wants............okay I'll stop being a ass.

But brace yourself for being called crazy and insane for gaming. Oh and yes we still worpship the dark one to.

Marlboro

BTW keep in mind in South Korea theres a EQ like game with 5 million subscribers but I don't hear people complaining about that game. Oh wait thats because they think
my bad.

All I can say is that if a person tried to pull some of the stuff that people claim all gamers do in a group with some of the people I know, that poor fool will go home in a full cast. (There's a reason that, except for other reasons such as access to a needed item, such as the telephone in case of important calls, the less briliant players tend to get confined to seats where stupid stuff results in them either taking their chances with plate glass or with the other players.)
