==Overview:==
Designed using the same chassi as the Atlas the Devil is intended as a deep
infiltration/hunter mech. Using the same shoulder assembly as the Atlas the
Devil is able to lift more than normal and even more when the Triple Strenght
Mynomer is activated the unit was able to lift in tests up to 55 tons for
short times. (Generally after this was done the entire shoulder assemblie
needed to be replaced, so it it not recommended to attempt this on a regular
basis.)
The third mech to walk off of the assemblie lines at the newly opened NAIS
Weapons LLC. The Devil has some interesting design features, to enhance the
fearsome look of the Devil the unit was molded after a old computer game
creature called "The Planar Deamon" for a came called Everquest. So minor
altering was needed for the legs, and a radical new design feature was
incoprerated for the jump jets. The jump jets actually are funneled through
exhast pole vents that extend from the back of the machine about 4 meters and
every time the jump jets are fired it actually gives the impression of wings
and with the directional vanes it gives the impression of flapping.
Critics opposed to the design of the unit from the beginning stated that the
ultra high proce tag and the mechs very nature, as a covert unit, mean that
the unit will see very little action, and with its current weapons load out it
cant deliver a knockout punch. Supporters have stated that in simulations the
unit has performed as expected and when hunting with other Devils there is
very little that can stand in the way of them.
==Capabilities:==
The ability to hide its self through the use of the Null Signature system was
deemed to be of the utmost importance as the mission profile of the Devil is
of the covert nature. Being a command mech and or structure hunter, the Devil
is intended to be deployed deep behind enemy lines searching for command
mechs, Mobile HQ's and even static HQ and destroy them. Very few expences were
held for the unit as it is hoped tp be a showpiece for the newly built
company.
Survivability was deemed the most important factor in designing the unit so
NWL went with a Standard engine and Gyro package were used to ensure
survivabiility. Another interesting feature was the incluson of armor
components for almost every major system, From the engine to the actuators
were armored to they can withstand multiple hits from an opponent and
hopefully allow the Devil to excape after fulfilling its mission. 3 Jumpjets
were added to allow the Devil to achieve a jump capability of 90 meters. Full
armor was used to provide as much protection as possible.
The weapons used were picked for their range and hitting power. All of the
weapons used were manufactured at NWL and are the equilivent of Clan weapons
in every way. NWL has just finally started mass producing their version of the
clan weapons and so far the orders for the new weapons have gone through the
roof. Oddly enough the weapons are mounted on the shoulders of the mech and
are mounted in turrets with give the unit a full 360 degree firing field. In
simulated tests this gave the Devil a unique advantage along with its agility
to really throw off and enemies ability handel the unit.
==Deployment==
In an odd move NWL has reduiced the price of the unit and is selling the Devil
to any buyer. (Infact to Yvonne Davion they were being offered as a 2 for one
deal with the strict promise that the mechs would be used as a full lance and
given to only the elite mechwarriors.) Several have already found their way
into the hands of Mercenaries, and it is rumored that the Davion Heavy guard
is now in possesion of 2 full lances of the new assult mech.
Critics still stats that the mechs high price tag and apparent lack of a
knockout weapon will severly hamper it in its given mission profile.

High price tag hurts, sure. The weaponry isn't a direct knock-out, sure. The speed is what kills it dead. A deep infiltration unit with a top speed of 5? (OK, one more with TSM active)
Once spotted it will be hunted down without mercy, and it just can't get away. Any likely target can also be evacuated long before the Devil gets there... The chance of failure is just too big.
I just wouldn't use this. The null-sig Exterminator goes for ~20 million as it is, 6/9/6 move with an XL engine, LRM-10, four MLs, 1 SL and an AMS. It could probably be improved by adding NAIS weapons.

Is it me or are there a ridiculous number of 100 ton assault here I mean this mech here is being passed of as a recon mech.GIVE ME A BREAK.Recon mechs need to be Fast This mech is way to big and way to slow for recon.A good recon mech should be a fast light or maybe a small medium.Those big slow mechs are called ASSAULTS for a reason.

Well I will follow this up, maybe a 75 ton heavy could work, note the top of each weight band is the most efficent design weight. You want something big, bad, and heavy. Otherwise go with 55 tons.

What is this Vagabond is doing a level 3 design after telling me that my use of level 3 tech is bad?It is a nice design good speed,armour is a bit thin though.Looks like a Wraith with stealth and Clan Weapons added.

Its only level 3 do to its Mixed Tech Mo. And if you'll remember I only said I rairly opinion level 3 designs, i don't hate them.
Armor is 89% max, and can be made 99% by removing 1 heat sink. Now that will hurt your abilities slightly as you'll have to manage heat better. As i'm sure you noticed initial design is set up to jump, stealth, and fire 1 group of weapons at no heat. You'll build 29 pts of heat with the ER LL and 27 with the ER MLs, so if armors what you want it more then safe enough to get it.
As for it being a wraith, i noticed that too after i settled on REALLY high speed. Unlike the Wraith thou this thing has range and funny enough the same amount of armor protection on a lighter chassie. So is it a Wraith clone by mistake or a fortunate combination of peices?

but lets not forget why i posted this concept.
Stingers idea is a fair one and he posted a very heavy end attempt. i posted this merrily to show him what i think everyone was trying to portray in there responces. I'm not steppin on toes or trying to recieve praise on a design, only trying to give a visual picture of what you guys were saying.

And the more I looked at it the more I realized it is more of a recon defender/Ambush mech, Depending on how you use the Null (and how you let the null work in your game) it could be a nasty surprise to be chasing down the recon mechs that have been harassing you only to have the forrest come alive with Mechs that resemble something out of the depths of hell. And I missed that in the original writeup.
And Mo just so you know, much like your preference for speedy lights I tend to prefer the Heavies/Assults. I generally get a concept in my head and start working with it, This was actually inspired by the orginal write up of the Atlas in the original 3025 TRO, Something about a mech being able to lift a medium and toss it around sparked a interest and when playing EQ there is a monster The Planar Fiend that just looks great and I felt would be a great design for a mech (Hence the writeup).
But I always welcome the feed back. So keep it comming.
