named after the acient terran deamon. the balthazar TA provides heavy firesupport to other TA's. using the latest in modular technology, the TA's main gun is actually a omni pod. allowing the Balthazar to change its mission profile to that which is needed.
with moderate speed and protection, any single balthazar is nothing to fear for but the lightest of enemy units. but when paired with another balthazar and escorting 4 Ishtar battle units. the balthazar shines.
usually equiped with a heavy support weapon all but configuration d follow its fire support mission. config a is equiped with a multi-pourpose autocannon. usable for long distance barages, to weekin enemy units. before the ishtars engage.
config b is the most favored. as it mosts a single high powered laser. backing this up are 5 heat sinks that can keep this config cool under all but the worst conditions.
config c is the most damaging of the configs. mounting a single ppc. this version can supprise and hurt all but heavy units. there is a major draw back. this unit is extremly under cooled for its weapon. suffering constant heat problems. usually pilots of this variant dig in to a position and provide stationary support. allowing the pilot to fire every 20 seconds without suffering major heat problems.
config d carries the latest in WoB weaponry. the iNarc is carried by this version to support the missile systems of its sister TA's. increasing unit accurasy. the back draw is limited ammo. allowing only 8 shots before the iNarc is depleated. but under standard field conditions, this is sufficent.
mounting mostly long range weapons iis the only true defense of the balthazar. as its armor is just over 50 percent, providing only enough armor to allow the TA to get hit once or twice before being forced to retreat.
we hope our newly formed TA battalion will perform well.
