What are the big developments in the game fictionwise? What's happeneing with game products and the companines that produce them? How about minis?

Cadet. Long time no see. What sup buddy.
To answer your question.
The Fedcom is in a Civil war. Yep. Vic is taking on Kat.
The companies are started to crank out the click base stuff. Minis as well
Fanpro said that they will but out minis for the classic verison of Btech.
Micheal(The world greatest writer. so good that he does not need the readers who buy his book, So he blows them off until he needs a favor. then pleads with them start buying his junk) Stackpole is started a new timeline for the Btech universe. Being dubbed The Dark Ages. Where the HPG network is no longer working. And the planets are cut off from each other. And once again Mechs are very rare on the feild.
It suppose to go with the click base game. I read a sample of the new storyline. Phew, It stunk. But that is just my opinon.

BattleTech Dark Ages? What the Hell? After reading that synopsis, I no longer think Michael "You fans suck, buy my books" Stackpole no longer qualifies as a writer. Not that I ever did of course.

So basically Whiz-Kids(puke)took btech in the future with a 3025 feel. sounds like they want to rewrite history in the future. A corperate paradox if you will. And you people said George W. was stupid. this will fly as far as a brick

Pinkfloyd, that is exactly the problem.
They sat there and said they had to scrap the game setting because they couldn't write their way out of it. Even with Stackpole, a living God of writing, we had to be told they couldn't write themselves into a decent new storyline.
So what do they do? Go back to the beginning. Now we have a situation where Mechs are rare, everything is isolated, and the like.
This is why I have no faith in WhizKids.

But seriously FASA might have been more successful if they put some thought into thier storyline instead of one crisis after anotherin the upper echleon of the political power. i can understand Sun-Tzu want the compact back, But for Katerine to take the throne by murdering her mother and her brother later on, hitting the clans, red falcon... It's like the movie Armegedon...What now!!
