==Overview:==
The Skyhawk represents an unusual step in the development of helicopters
within the Federated Suns. The helicopter is as compact as possible as far
internal space goes. The chin turret is right below the cockpit. The fusion
engine, although behind the cockpit, is seperated by enough of a firewall s
as not to be hazardous. The 'wings' are little more than the missile
launchers, some structure, a bit of armor, and the rotors (for the sake of
this compactness the unit is forced to have co-axial rotors). Time will tel
if the unit will do any good.

==Capabilities:==
For those creating game stats based on fluff text, the relative compactness
the helicopter produces the following rules:

When targeting, Short Range (more than one hex) adds +1 to their to-hit
target, Medium Range adds +2, and long range adds +3.

If the pilot has taken more than one hit, he suffers an additional +1 to hi
target modifier in order to eject due to the compactness of the design.

If the rotor takes two points of damage, the player must make a piloting sk
roll at a +3 penalty. If the roll succeeds, then the other rotor survives i
enough shape to nurse the unit back in. Moving at flank speed forces anothe
piloting skill roll (again with a +3 penalty), and any additional rotor hit
sends the helicopter down.

==Variants:==
It has been proposed that the chin medium laser be replaced with a TAG unit
or that the SRM racks be traded out for an LRM rack. An unconfirmed report
a flight operating in the DCMS that makes use of an MRM-10 in place of all
other weaponry. A proposed version has all the weaponry removed in
favor of a cargo hoist.

Not bad good speed, good armour,O.K. weapon load .an upgrade to ferro-fiborous armour and a second ML could give it a signifficant upgrade in firepower with a slight increase in protection (5 tons standard 80 points 4.5 tons FF 81 points) and at this size the increase in cost would be small for what you would gain
