whoa, hey guys, its been a while since i've posted here. you miss me?
anyways, i've got a little news update for you. i've been working on a fan project, but here's the offical blurb
Quote:
| Hey Battletech Fans
Thanks to some hardworking members at BattletechUniverse.org, Mecha Entertainment is proud to bring you the 2004 Mecha Calendar! This calendar presents you with 12 completely new mech designs. Each month, a new mech is shown, complete with technical data and background/overview information. It is basically a calendar AND a technical readout all in one!
The calendar is 11” x 17” in size, printed on high quality calendar stock paper. The calendar pages are spiral bound together. Included with the 12 new designs, there will also be a few bonus pages in the back as well. We won’t get into too much detail, but we are confident that this calendar will be a great addition to your Battletech collection.
We are selling the calendar for $11.95 (USD) + S&H ($4.00 to Continental U.S. Overseas rates will vary). If you wish to pre-order one or more of the calendars, you can do so between now and September 15th for only $9.95 + S&H! If you order 3 or more, you will also get a 10% discount on each additional calendar. Members of BattletechUniverse.org: you have an added bonus! Cash in 50,000 C-Bills and receive FREE shipping on the calendar! We encourage those of you who are not members of BTU.org to join and earn some C-Bills in order to take advantage of this offer. This offer is good until we stop selling the calendars alltogether. It is valid not just during the pre-order period only but for the whole sale period. Please include your registered membername when you email Odysseus and mention that you want to receive the free shipping, and he will decuct 50,000 C-Bills from you.
Please use the following links to view a sample “month” from the calendar. This will give you a general idea of the calendar format and layout, as well as what kinds of information will be presented. Again, this is only a sample.

You guys here at Mordel's might notice the artwork style. It is of course Culverin's! He has been working hard as the primary artist on this project and I guarantee you guys, you won't be dissapointed with this! We have an excellent artist and some of the best Battletech Mech designers, as well as excellent fiction writers coming up with this work. Looking forward to your interest in this!

anyways, it feels like i'm tooting my own horn by posting this up, but you guys know me a little better than having just some random guy come in here and post it.
first off, wizkids has graciously allowed us to use weapons names (ie Gauss Rifle and ER PPC)
2ndly, i was wondering if you'd like to see the design notes right on the picture. it'd be just a 1 sentence thing saying. "bubble faceplate for better viewing on a scout"
i would like some feedback though.
you can be critical and stuff, i can take it
what do you think about my art?
improvments i need to make?
and heck, are you guys even intrested in this at all?

Hey, I'm Odysseus, the Admin at BattletechUniverse.org. Thanks Admins for allowing us to post here and work on getting the BT/Mecha Community at large interested in this! We've worked hard (and paid out of pocket) for this project for the fans.
In case you were wondering also, WizKids has full knowledge of this project and has given written permission for its being published. We're clear of copyrights
MekTek has now officially recognized us (www.mektek.net) so I'm pleased with that. If you guys have any questions please feel free to let me know! I hope you all may be interested in this calendar as much as we were in making it! Another sample will eventually be released. For now let me know any questions/comments you have.
Also, Admins.. if you would like to place an announcement of this on your main website, I would love to add this site to our official sponsors list on the credits page in the calendar for all to see. Your site name and link will be included. Let me know if this would interest you at all! Thanks
Thanks!

Hi Odysseus....
Mordel is currently away and he handles all that stuff. As soon as he returns I'll bring this to his attention and we'll see what happens.

Here's a nice update for you guys!
For this pre-order period, if you order a calendar, we will be packaging a CD that includes HMP, TDB and XML files for each of the 12 'Mechs in the calendar, for FREE!
Also, once the pre-order period ends, you will also be able to get, with your order, a CD with the data mentioned above, PLUS a medium-resolution image of each 'Mech that you can use as a desktop wallpaper or whatever, for $5 (no additional shipping). If you want to get this CD during the pre-order period, you can do so for only $2.50
Finally, we will be offering 22" x 34" size posters for $2.50 each. Once we get farther along, we'll post some small images of each of the 'Mechs in the calendar so you can decide which ones you might want a poster of.
One last offer for now Pre-orders are of course $9.95 + S&H. But, if you would rather pay full price for a calendar during the pre-order period ($11.95 + S&H), you can get a 2nd calendar SIGNED by the artist, for FREE!
If you want any of these offers, use the following codes when emailing me at odysseus@battletechuniverse.org:
A.) Pre-order Calendar for $9.95 + S&H (includes CD of design files)
B.) Pre-order Calendar plus CD of design files and wallpaper images for $12.45 + S&H
C.) Pre-order Calendar at full price, to receive a 2nd calendar signed by the artist, for $11.95 + S&H
D.) Pre-order of posters at $2.50 each.
If you want some combination of these, email me and we'll work it out so that shipping doesnt kill you.
More special offers coming soon!
Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Here's an update! Here is a 2nd sample for you all to look at: The Ballista.
We are still in the pre-order period, which means you can get your calendar for only $9.95 + S&H ($4.00 U.S., $6.00 International. If you want faster than basic shipping, higher rates may apply) and hopefully our timeframe for around October for official release is still about right
Finally, we're pretty close to having posters ready to actually be shipped! We'll be releasing samples of the Cricket and Ballista posters soon.
As a reminder, simply email me at odysseus@battletechuniverse.org and give me your Name, Address, Email, BTU username if applicable, the number of calendars you want, and if you want any additional features such as posters, and the images on CD. Again, you will automatically receive a CD with HMP/TDB files of all of the Mechs on them. If you want to send a check/money order, you can email me for my address and that will be fine. I also accept PayPal orders at odysseus@battletechuniverse.org.
Let me know if you have any more questions!

And an updated sample of the Cricket that looks a little better:

Please do not post those large pics again, links will do for our dial-up posters just fine.
And why did you create another posting ID?
