Talen's black trenchcoat flowed dramatically as he walked to the 2200 Block building with no visable name. He stopped outside the door, looked up, frowned, and continued walking.
As if in some slow motion movie, Talen opened the door. The two hinged pieces of glass swung open and hit their extreme open posistion, creating a loud clang. No seemed to be paying attention to him.
He got to the elevator and pressed the button for the 43rd floor.
"Hmm, he was right, no 44th floor..."
"44th Floor, huh?" an old man that appeared out of nowhere daid.
"Who are you?" Talen asked.
"Me...I am just an old man that appears out of nowhere. Heehee"
"How did you do that?" Talen was more confused about this old man than of the rubix cube he had hanging in his mech.
"Let me explain, heehee, Johnny there is the best goddam pilot in the galaxy" The old man pointed off in a random direction, but Talen saw only the elevator.
"But..."
"And chaos there...he makes the best cookies this side of Mars." he again pointed, but Talen only saw the elevator.
"Huh?"
"And me? Well, I just do what i do, heehee. Understand?"
"Not really"
"Damn kids these days. You dont want to go to the 44th floor. Lotsa weird things up there. Secret things. Things THEY dont want you to see."
"Whose THEY?" Talen asked
"The ones that are watching you" the old man points up, and Talen looks up, staring straight into the camera. "They know who you are, and why you are here."
"Right...this is my stop, got to go."
"Not so fast" a deeper voice came from behind. Talen spun and was staring down the barrel of a Desert Eagle .50, not being held by an older man, but a man dressed in a buisness suit and sunglasses. Talen ducked and tripped the guy, grabbing his gun on the way down.
"Hey! Buddy...what the hell you doin?" The suit man had turned into the old man again. "You some kind of nut job?"
Talen released his hold on the man and left the elevator. He looked around and didnt see anyone, so he found the stairs and continued up. What seemed like 7 flights later he came to a door and opened and walked through.
Instead of being met with the 44th floor of a building, he walked out on to a Basketball court in the middle of the city, on the ground.
"Huh?" Talen turned around and his door was gone.
"Glad you could join me, Mister Tseng" a voice came from in front of him. He turned around and noticed Talen walking from across the court. "I have been expecting you. Punctual as always. Predictable and uncreative. Dissapointing, to say the least, I was at least expecting you to be a few minutes early or late. But then...I guess I cant ask too much of you, now can I?"
"Are you an Agent of BOIL or something?" Talen asked
"Oh, come now, BOIL? You think I would waste our talents on those pathetic creatures. No, Mr. Tseng. I am not an Operative of BOIL."
"So, what are you then? Another clone of me?" Talen asked.
"Heh...I am that, and so much more. I guess you could say that I am the alpha..."
"Of your omega." another Talen steps out from around the left corner.
"The begining..." a third one from behind him says.
"Of your end." A fourth, fifth and sixth appear and say the line together. Talen in the middle frowns and puts his sunglasses in his jacket pocket. He puts his left leg foward, and points to one of the Talens, then beckons him with one finger. The six Talens attack Talen at the same time....
