Just the other day, I convinced my friends to play a quick round of B-Tech. They said that it is never short blah, blah, blah, but I made them play, saying that I would make sure it was short. It was very short indeed.

Greerson Mountains
Steiner
Fourth Succession Wars...
Any of this ringing a bell...
Six Steiner Elvinder Fortress Dropships. It took me 15 minutes just to roll the weapons for all of my dropships. then I had to roll again for the criticals on the mechs not obliterated.
Total elapsed time: 38 minutes
Total turns elapsed: 3
Needless to say, I didn't even bother unloading any of my other forces. Hehehe. Some things are priceless. just like rolling a hit to the head with a long tom. Mean? Maybe. But a hell of a lot of fun.
BTW this is mentioned briefly in the 3057 TRO with the Fortress dropship.

Why would anyone want to play a game where you, GeoAvanti, spend all your time rolling dice and at the end your opponent is declared dead? Sorry, but thats kinda lame. Hopefully someone will come up with a better way to shorten Btech.

It was meant as a joke to put down a self proclaimed "God" of B-tech. I guess I failed to mention that part. Besides, someone else gave me the idea to royally screw him in a game, so I turned to the fluff for ideas. And behold!
BTW, Clickeytech isn't THAT bad. It is a lot simpler to play though. And SOME of the sculpting kicks major ass. Like the Crimson Hawk.

Okay, that makes more sense. I thought you might be doing it to some newb, which is a sure way to get people to hate the game.

Clickytech is collectible, which means it won't get a dollar of my money. I am sure the game mechanics have their own merit, but I sure as hell am not buying something in which the final product is unknown.

I kind of prefer Tandem Charge SRMs and a whole lot of SRM-6s, but thats just me.
ClickTech is more of a quick-and-dirty system of playing. Ive tried it, had an OK time, but the game just cant compete with the randomness of the original Battletech. I like the fact that my first shots might slip through the torso armor and do some damage. Or the risk that his gauss rifle might hit at very long range and take off my Sunder's head.
If I only have a half hour to play, Id go for ClickTech. If I really want to get into the trenches, I go for BattleTech. Its just an all around better game, I think.

I've played ClickyTech, and MageKnight. Only played though cause one of my friends is really into the MageKnight thing, and i convinced him to spend his $$ on the MW:DA stuff too. We even played a couple of games of MW:DA vs MK. Guess which side won, even when giving the other side 150% of points?
Out of 4 games played one vs other:
Wins Losses
MW:DA 3 1
MK 1 3
I consider the game that MK won to be a fluke, since he got very lucky.
