Category 1)
Fighters
Star Wars:
Rebel Alliance: X-Wing, Y-Wing (sorry, I have to name two of each side)
Empire: TIE fighter (standard flat panel version)
Darth Vader's TIE fighter from Episode IV
Category 2)
Battletech:
Mmmm, only two?
CHP-W5 Chippewa and F-100 Riever (love flying wing designs) the Chippewa has folding wings, I like that, but the rudders of the Riever are more pretty
SL-S1 Sholagar love flying frisbee designs, high marks for originality
Small Ship
Between 10-100 Meters
Star Wars:
The Millenium Falcon
Lambda class Shuttle
Small Capital Ships
Corellian corvette (Princess Leia ship)
Unsure of what it is but the Klingon Bird of Prey looks cool
Battletech
Union class Dropship.
The quintaessential Dropship , period. Spheres are beautiful.
Category 4)
Main Combat Ships
Imperial Class Star Destroyer, is there anything else?
Category 5)
The Space Station from 2001 A Space Oddisey, just for the retro look of it.
Other:
The Discovery from 2001 A Space Oddisey, sleek lines, like the round nose, and of course it has HAL

I've only really got a favorite in category 3.
The Event Horizon. I don't know why, it must be something about a ship whose engine is tethered to the crew section by only the most flimsy gantry and framework. _________________ "A man who does not speak his own words, does not think his own thoughts." -me

1) I have always liked the X-Wing starfighter from Star Wars as far as pur looks go. It also has a very rich history.
2) I would probably have to go with the Leopard CV from BattleTech. Why? The detail, you can see the launch bays, bridge, weapons ports, etc.
3) Correlian Gunship from Star Wars, more specifically the Lucas Arts game of Rebellion. It is a very cheap and easy to build ship that is pure murder to TIE fighter units.
4) This would be a toss up between the Imperial II class Star Destroyer and the Assault Frigates, both of which I am basing off the stats from the Star Wars Rebellion game again.
5) Death Star from Star Wars for the pure and simple fact of the classic lines that go with it. "That's not a moon..."

BattleStar Galactica: the BattleStars

Star Trek: Romulan D'deridex (sp?)-class War Bird
In anime, it would likely go to the Deathshadow, the Arcadia, the Kyuru and the Queen Emeraldas...

Star Wars: Super Star Destroyers (these are more akin to space stations than actual warships in many ways), Golan space defense platforms
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (after modifications to battlestation)
Babylon 5: Babylon 4 (mostly because my mind is going blank otherwise)...

Colonial Vipers for fighters.
The small ships would be the ones from SPACE 1999, hey had one of the toys as a kid.
Capital ships...
Earthforce Warships...had that look to them...
The Battlestars again had big ship look.
Others...Gamalon ships from Star Blazers, so Comet Empire ships as well.
Space Stations...B5, Death Star..
I have some others but will need to check some books...will post when I do, IF I get the chance here before I leave.

vf-22 has that buff look.
vf-19 has that sleak look, because of its wings.

Let's see, the Millenium Falcon is faster, more manueverable and has weapons. Serenity is just a cooler design, although on par as far as practicality. The Tardis makes the list just on versatility and great headroom, despite the compact size.
I'd classify the Eagles as being the equivalent of a Star Trek shuttle. More utilitarian, people and cargo mover. It's like a pickup truck in space. And there just wasn't a category for that.
