Are any of you Northestern US residents worried about this storm? They are saying right now it is going to be worse than our Christmas storm. Last I checked, my aunt in Avalon NJ, had over 18 inches of snow and it was still coming strong. Frankly, we hjave enough leftovers in the fridge so that we wont starve, unless we lose power of course, but considering I live on top of a mountain, they are used to heavy snowfall.

Storm? There's a storm coming?
Seriously, no. The prediction for here is 12-18 inches. And to be honest, that's not a whole lot. Unless I hear the magic words of "24-36 inches", I tend not to give it a second thought. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Last I heard, we were in for some warmer weather. Course, this is for Kansas. We've had hardly any snow worth mentioning this winter. _________________ "A man who does not speak his own words, does not think his own thoughts." -me

Here in VA, we saw Noah float by over our lawns.... or what's left of them.
My street has about 3.5 inches (8 to 9 cm for the Non-Americans) of water over it, flowing about 4 kts....

You know, it doesn't really sound like a lot of water... until you have to find a way to get it out of your basement!

If I had a basement, it would have 7 ft of water in it everyday. Today it would flowing out the door or into the house...

For those of you in the path of this blizzard...
Here in Delaware we got 24 inches plus. I had to take my storm window out of my storm door in order to shovel the snow away from my door to get out.
Compared to the blizzard of 78, which many New Englanders will remember, take away a third of the snowfall and half of the snow removal equipment and you get a picture of what shape Delaware is in right now. _________________ The more I get to know people the more I like my dog.

They were calling for 24+ in your area on Fox News' morning show this morning.
Right before they mentioned it, two of the anchors and about ten staff members went and helped push a cop car out of a snow drift while a camera in the studio caught it all live.

Woohoo!! Come on snow!! I shovel the front walk every few hours to keep it passable. Never know when you're gonna have to leave the house quickly. Parked the 4x4 at the end of the driveway so I won't need to worry about clearing it in case of said emergency. And I cranked the snowblower up about 5 minutes ago. And on top of that a very nice smell is coming up the stairs from the kitchen. I'm gonna head down and see what my SO has baking. So all is well. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

All we've been getting down here is freezing rain, which, in many ways, is worse than snow...

Three words, "Flooding, Freezing, Sucking!"
A town of about 1200 in Newfoundland flooded the other day, as ice jammed a river. They were about two to three feet deep in cold water, when a cold snap hit, causing temperatures to drop to minus thirty, with windchill. Celcius or Farenheit, that's damned cold! Well, now the entire town is encased in a tomb of Ice. And it probably won't thaw until April! Cars are frozen in place, doors to houses are frozen in the open position. It's absolute madness!
But, it's pretty nice over on my end of the country!
Alexander
