Viking Invasion has been out for about a week now and I've had it for a couple of days. and they've finally managed to equil the fun of shogun. The problem with medeval is that it take SOOOOO long to take over the entire thing and that (for some) every facti0on is so different the you're not sure what units/tactics to use against them, well, problem solved. The new viking campain is short and sweet with little units variation for most facts (excluding the Vikings Welsh Picts Scots and Irish)

I just purchased Medieval Total War two weeks ago, needless to say it is really sucking my free time. I will have to give the Viking Invasion and Shogun versions a try too if I can lay my claws on them that is.

Viking Invasion shouldn't be hard to find, Shogun on the other hand... you MIGHT be able to pick up a copy from the website, and if you do, be sure to buy Warlord edition.

Thanks for the tip on SHOGUN, I had noted on the website that it would probably be a good idea to get the Warlord edition.

Right now I am still trying to figure out why the game plays fine on my laptop but not on my desktop.

I've been playing it for awhile, it's an awesome game. For my favorite team I'd have to say the Spanish, followed closely by the Egyptians.

Rome: Total War looks to kick all kinds of ass, but the current release is Fall 2004. It's going to be a long year.

It will be well worth the wait, do you have the Viking Invasion Expansion? If not I highly recommend you get it, the Viking Campain is great, and the new units added into the original campain are VERY nice, the Arab nations have the medium infantry that they were lacking, the Byzantines got a couple new units, and new territory based units can add an interesting Flavor to any army.

I am still working on my basic strategies. So far the Danes have been my favorite of the few that I have played, mainly because of their ability to train Vikings at any Fort.

I've been playing it for a few weeks now, and have found it to be quite enjoyable. I too like playing the Danes... and have conquored almost half of Europe with their crazy Vikings.

You guys will both love the Viking Expansion, it allows the Danes to train the Viking units in the original campgain (early era only). Thralls, Berserkers, Landsman, and yes even the mighty Huscarle.
