The latest version of Cry Freedom is out! More streamlined combat rules! The latest in equipment rules! Updates and rules changes!
Cry Freedom Development Team can expect an update email within the next few days! Enjoy people.
Also the challange is still out there for a quick and dirty unit construction system cabable of handling everything from tanks to mecha, to helicopters and jets, and various changes in the technology levels of the units (like ICE engines versus antimatter/matter reaction chambers).

OK. The current printed version is 29 pages long (which is printed on both sides) without artwork (but plenty of space for art to be included!!!).
There are 14 units (4 Mecha, 4 VTOL, 6 AFV) and detailed infantry construction rules (By squad). There are prices for everything (except weapons, that will change by tomarrow).
The breakdown on pages currently includes -
22 page rule book
2 page Basic Core Construction System (REALLY basic too!)
2 page Master Unit List
1 blank Vehicle Record Sheet
1 blank Infantry Record Sheet
1 Quick Reference Chart Guide
The Box Set will contain the rule book and the following:
28 plastic minis (2 for each of the 14 units in the Master Unit List) + A small paint guide
14 Unit Record Sheets
4 Detailed Hex Maps

WHAT IS IT?! WHAT IS IT?! ARE YOU MAD?!
Cry Freedom is a game I'm developing that this board went a long way in inspiration. I noticed one day that with all the rules change submitions people had been making that technically the game of BattleTech just wasn't as good as it could be, so i was like "I'll make a better version of the game!" But then as I started working i realized that i had an oppertunity to do something a lot better, so i just made a whole new game.
It uses some similiar concepts (size for instance) but also has a lot of different ones (smart weapons, mecha = just as tough as anything else, infantry are tough little SOB's, etc etc)
Overall i'm fairly happy with it!

Greetins interested patron!
Although we do not have a website yet, we ARE working on one. However, I have a semi current mailing list that gets updates on a private time table (i.e. when work and school permits me to actually sit down work on my game and make an update). With your permission I would be happy to add your email to the list which would allow you to see where the game is going, and will put you in line to recieve the latest update (again, when i find time to work on it! Life is just so bothersome isn't it?)

Are your mech designs going to be modular such as Omnis? If so, perhaps you could throw in a box of "Steel Warriors" plastic minis in your boxed set. They come with 3 destinct chassis, and a variety of interchangeable arms/arm weapons.

yup. modular was the idea. And I was actually thinking about doing that. I'll have to see how it turns out though on cost and such. Cause right now i don't have any cash, unless I get a government start up loan (the government will give out loans to encourage businesses to start up) but before I do that i want to make sure I actually want to make sure I can at least break even on sales.
