Got the idea from none other than David Drake in Redliners.
Osmium wire warheads are used in MRMs, LRMs, SRMs, and the plethora of variants.
Instead of the standard HEAP warhead, the osmium wire warhead consists of a tighly coiled osmium wire wrapped in trusty pentaglycerine. On impact, the wire is detonated by an electric current, producing more damage than the standard HEAP round.
The main flaw is a slightly reduced range (-2 from standard) balanced out by increased damage (+2 per missile).
The idea has not been tested yet, but I am implementing it in a few designs.
Any opinions?

This would make MRM's do 3 points of damage each. A 40 pack could do up to 120 points damage?! All for just a reduction in range. That does not sound very balanced to me. How about doubling the damage for LRM's and maybe SRM's, but leaving MRM's alone.
About the fluff: osmium wire in pentaglycerine? Why osmium?
