Targeting & Tracking System: (Unknown)
==Overview:==
Planned in concept only, prior to the 4th Succession Wars. The idea was sim
an Assult Mech with near maximum armor and capable of engaging enemies
effectively at all ranges.
==Capabilities:==
The design was to use a 300 rated fusion engine as its power plant. This he
would have been capable of moving this 100 ton monstrosity at up to 54kph.
Around this was a chassie designed to use slopping armor similar to that of
Marauder. And to be equiped with a very unique leg locamotion system.
The planned offensive weapons package consisted of groups redundent weapons
that stagger back to point blank range. Allowing the pilot to engage effect
no matter the distence. To allow for maximum feild deployment most of the
weapons are energy based.
First on the list was a pair of particle projection cannons, setting the
maximum effective distance. Some speculate that this was a weakness in the
design, as long range missile boats could out range it. But we feel that wi
proper pilot, this small problem can be countered and over come.
Second on the list was a pair of large lasers. Doing less damage, but cover
the medium ranges. Allowing for options.
Third on the list was an array of four medium lasers and twin short range
missile racks. This offered the finishing punches against most targets.
Exploiting the holes that the ppc's and large lasers have caused.
Last on the list was a pair of machine guns designed to give this primarily
energy mech an anti-infantry punch. The two machine guns are enough to clea
most infantry platoons from the feild in one burst.
The designers carefully plotted the heat curve of each and every weapon,
equiping the neccesary heat sinks to effectivly use its weapons. Using a
similar thought of the great Stalker, we feel that if this mech has seen fu
production it would have been a truely deadly weapon.
==Variants:==
The only planned variant removes the ppc's and two heat sinks in favor of 2
15's and 2t of ammo.

Nice but expensive for a level 1 mech...

Heat monster.
I would recommend dropping those Large Lasers for some LRMs, heat sinks and medium lasers and maybe addtional SRMs.

Not a heat monster...Old schoolers would know how to get the most of this and it is sad that players now a days won't touch a mech if it has any heat build up...I can see this thing taking on and stop a lot of the newer "advanced" mechs.

Neg. The PPCs and Large Lasers share too close of a range bracket to be mounted in these numbers with that few heat sinks. Use the PPCs until you close to the 3 hex range bracket and they fire SRMs and medium lasers.
The Large lasers are a waste of tonnage and heat sinks on this design. You could either drop the PPCs for LRMs but you basically have a Stalker. Thus my original suggestions.

Sorry the two work together thus ensureing that medium range which is what this thing seems to be built for is covered as would the close in areas by the lasers firing only to keep the pilot from having the problems of the mins on the PPCs.
So I disagree with your take on this one 100%.

Actually, it's stated that this machine is supposed to be good at ALL ranges, not just medium. Think a much slower and more heavily armed Shadow Hawk. I agree with Jade Dragon, drop the PPCs/LLas for something else. Best yet, mismatch the pair. One LLas and one PPC.

NOOOOOOOOOO!
i refuse to drop the PPC's even just one!
the idea was redundent weapon systems that cover progressivly as you close range. now, dropping the large lasers i understand. they really are to close ranged to the ppc to be effectively imployed.... untill you close to 3 hexes the ppc would be the choice weapon, then you'd use the medium lasers and srm's.
i'll work up something.
