Soooo swwweeeeeet. This 'Mech matches my style of play, makes me really consider trading in my Griffin. Really, it's just a B-Tech version of my MechCommander 2 Sha Yu.

BattleMech Technical Readout

Type/Model: Shark SYU-2D
Tech: Inner Sphere / 3063
Config: Biped BattleMech
Rules: Level 2, Standard design

Mass: 40 tons
Chassis: Hellespont Type T Endo Steel
Power Plant: 240 VOX Light Fusion
Walking Speed: 64.8 km/h
Maximum Speed: 97.2 [118.8] km/h
Jump Jets: 6 HildCo Model 13 Standard Jump Jets
Jump Capacity: 180 meters
Armor Type: Durallex Medium Standard
Armament:
1 BlazeFire Sweetshot ER Large Laser
2 BlazeFire Longshot ER Medium Lasers
2 Sutel Precision Line Medium Pulse Lasers
1 ChisComp 32 Small Laser
Manufacturer: Hellespont Industries
Location: Sian
Communications System: Dalban Series K
Targeting & Tracking System: Digital Scanlok 347

==Overview:==
Hellespont Industries wisely chose to use the Raven chassis as the starting point and discovered that with a slightly heavier frame and alteration to the electronics package, a stealth armor system would work beyond projected expectations. This would become the "Sha Yu", the Shark, named for its bullet-shaped forward thrusting cockpit on which an engineer painted an old combat decoration more often seen on fighter craft. A fitting description, Hellespont finally decided, given that the Shark certainly had "teeth".

==Capabilities:==
When Sun-Tzu Liao declared his support for Victor Steiner-Davion near the later half of the war, he was loath to send his military units into a foreign battle, and just as unwilling to let new technology fall into the hands of the often hostile Federated troops. While he could not show his support with technology or troops (though he later ordered House Daidachi to support Victor's Allied Forces), he could do so with numbers. Manufacturing a large amount of extra Sha Yu chassis and shipping them along with older 'Mechs, Sun-Tzu put Victor "in debt" to him without sacrificing anything the CCAF could use. Since the barren Sha Yus were useless, Victor gave Sun-Tzu a hollow thank you and merely placed them in storage.
First Princess Yvonne Davion has not been as unwise. It is well known that parts are manufactured much faster than the BattleMechs that use them. With that in mind, Yvonne was able to add the necessary parts to the Sha Yus (called Sharks in the Federated Suns). Quickly sending the new 'Mechs all over the Suns, most units claim one Shark, though few can claim more than two.
The Davion Shark makes use of a smaller Light engine rather than an XL. It also mounts jump jets, making it one of the most maneuverable of the medium 'Mechs. With lasers of differing sizes and types, the Shark can usually find a range where it's opponent is at a disadvantage and remain there, protected from effective return fire. The Sharks lasers and low heatsink count create a problem that was solved by the use of triple strength mynomer, which allows the Davion Shark to keep pace with all medium designs, including the Liao Sha Yu and Liao/Marik Wraith.

==Variants:==
One variant drops the jump jets for a targeting computer, which makes the Shark slightly less maneuverable, but much more deadly.

==Deployment==
The few Shark chassis in the Federated Suns have all been converted to either the 2D or 3D configurations. House Liao has converted a few of it's own "Sha Yus” for experimental purposes.

Looks like you could have some heat problems but the JJs should allow you to jump out of harms way when that occurs.

Ja, and TSM helps keep that to a minimum.

Can I get a few more comments?

Any complaints on the weaponry? No ammo weapons anywhere...

How about the Targetting Computer variant? Decent?

Ideas for other variants?

Change this one?

Good Davion/Liao blend? (Like the other Davion/Liao 'Mechs, Cataphract and JagerMech. Anyothers?)

Edit: Anyone get a "Wraith" vibe from it? It's not as bad, but still...

well its good for situations where you have little logistical support but its a little hot. consider minor variant that kills Sl and 1/2t armor for a heatsink

I would change a couple of things, otherwise I like it very much.

Some friends of mine are going to include it in a mock battle tomorrow.

I'll tell you how it goes.
