Overview:
    Initially concepted in 3055 as the "Raiden", the Mech was the brainchild of Precentor
    Martial Anastasius Focht. His proposal called for a fast-moving Heavy Battlemech in the same
    vein as the Dragon. A machine which could perform a multitude of combat roles and survive
    thanks to a combination of superior speed and heavy armor. Internal bickering over doctrinal
    issues and the loss of Terran-based manufacturing firms delayed production of the machine,
    even after the design was finalized. When the machine finally reached production, it was
    renamed Focht, in honor of the retired Precentor Martial. The production FCT-7 would see
    extensive use by the ComGuards during the Blakist Jihad, and would prove itself to be a
    rugged and reliable option for virtually any assignment.
