Overview:
Designed with only speed in mind, they named it in honor of the FTL engineer that made our
universe what you see today. Capable of travelling at 745kph, I'd say that part of the
design was managed.. But, it has no weapons, armor or equipment...
Capabilities:
If someone wanted to stay below radar, yet get there faster than anyone could expect/prepare
for; then this is your ride. just don't get hit by well.. anything.
Deployment:
Perhaps a plausible delivery vehicle for MechWarrior's or other important personnel for
emergency deployment to their respective combat stations, should they have a perfect pilot
to rely on flying this and a MechWarrior or whatever willing to risk the ride.
Variants:
Ultralightweight medical gurney pods built specially to work with this machines high speeds
have been added along with a 200kg winch with monofilament rope coated in high visibility
anti abrasive and usually with a harness or grapple at the end. Another has added a camera
and other recording equipment. A rumble seat is really the only common addition requested to
the base design, though some have been willing to take up to 3 MechWarrior's in those gurney
pods and the engine is more than capable of the weight, but the aerodynamics usually makes
the pilot have to go a lot slower for safety sake.
Notable MechWarriors:
Viktoriya Koslova was an amazing pilot that was misogynistically excluded from her local
aerospace program. She was pushed into the medical field by the local ongoing battles and
basic financial reasons (gotta eat, keep a roof overhead, etc.) and by chance she wound up
the only capable pilot at the right time. She saved a key figure in the battle from falling
out of a fractured mech cockpit hanging over a deep rocky ravine. He was the enemy general!
assumed dead he could have been written off as a loss in battle, but they leveraged him as a
hostage to cease the war for at least a time. It got her her own MASH unit, custom rescue
helicopter and the chance to use politics to get her that spot in the local aerofighter
program, where she was their ace student example for nearly fifty years after and outshone
many of her predecessors to that title.
