=Overview:=
One of the primary advantages that the Russians can throw into almost any battle is a huge abundance of armored vehciles and infantry. The use of overwhelming force has been a very successful tactic, limiting casualities and allowing the Russians to repulse invasions by very capable BattleMech units.

However, although casualities are limited, they are still very high. To combat this disturbing tendency, the Russians have announced the development of a long range combat tank, based upon tanks of old which could lob shells ammazing distances. Although this tank still has a fairly short range by comparison, it can still outshoot anything else on the field.

=Capabilities:=
The Russians took and modified a standard Sniper Artillery Piece and created the NNov2 Songster 152mm Smoothbore. It is termed the Songster for the whistling its round makes. The cannon fires a hypervelocity, armor-piercing, fin-stabilized, discarding-sabot (HVAPFSDS) round believed to have a muzzle velocity of over 1,750 meters per second and an effective range of at least 2,000 meters. This sort of fire power is unbelievable on the current battlefield, and has been a source of much confusion for small probing pirates who were brought under massive fire power without ever seeing an enemy tank.

Coupled with heavy armor, a well designed engine system, and excellent communications, the T-9 is slowly becoming accepted by Russian tank commanders who perfer the flexability the design allows for.
