Surprisingly impressive! I had given up on MML because of bulk due to crit-starvation, but it fits well. Heat balance and range are quite acceptable. Speed in urban combat is reasonable; it's a decent sidegrade to the S - Jump is missed, but difficult to apply. Perhaps I could have more performance if I'd have sacrificed it. BV is very affordable; sending something like a Huntsman after it is unlikely to result in a favorable trade. It's stuffed with ammo, but I never considered that as much of a drawback on Quadvees - fry one MechWarrior and the other takes over.

If you want to give it a letter designation, I approve. Please let me know how it plays.

Thanks! I'm going to claim the "Y" designation, both so that it goes next to the other named config and because all the letters I'd want to claim (S, J, A, F, and B) are already taken.

I did design the Y/Urban Spider with the S in mind, I wanted to try and create a design that used the Mech Mortar a bit better. Ironically, this resulted in me pushing the Mortar to the secondary position behind the MML. But I feel that's for the better, as it gives the Y more ways to attack both directly and indirectly.

Being honest, the Y still felt like a work in progress to me when I saved it. I was still trying to figure out the best way to use the 14 tons and 5 slots, with the current loadout being the best I could throw together. The core of the issue was the heat balance; I had to choose either low heat and lackluster damage, or high damage but absolutely abysmal heat balance. I decided the former was preferable, eventually settling on the LAC-5. It's not what I wanted, but it leans into the alternate ammo-driven nature of the Y, which I feel is a win.

I think you could squeeze Jump Jets into the Y if your willing to sacrifice some damage and tank the heat balance. The LAC-5, cLPL, and cMPL can be swapped for 3JJs, a cERLL, and either a Autocannon 2 or a IS LPL. The former is probably the better option, as the latter simply asks what heat balance is and starts glowing a deep orange. The BV only changes by plus or minus 100 (respectively), so it's still arguably good value.

By the way, I think the IS LPL is a good option for the Aparctias if you need to use up a ton or two. The range loss does suck, but it doesn't break the heat budget like the cERLL does and saves a lot of BV. And if you want to try and put an MML on the Aparctias yourself, I recommend the 7 over the 9. The MML-9 is slightly more weight and slot efficient, but in my experimentation the MML-7 is better because you can you can use that last slot much more efficiently.

Apologies if I'm blabbing a bit. I always have a lot going through my head with the designs I like, so the dam seems to burst whenever I get the chance to share. But I just want to say thanks for feedback, especially for something that was a bit of a throw-away idea.
