Based on Karagin's idea, here's a few rules that I came up with for mounting personal weapons on vehicles:
1. Weapons Mounts: For each weapon, there must be a weapon mount. Each mount weighs 10% of the tonnage of the weapon. (this is to keep with the other rules for turrets and structure.)
2. Ammo: Although the ammo/kilogram varies, all weapons must mount ammo in .1 ton increments. (this is just to make the math a little easier.)
2A. Power Packs: power packs aren't needed; the weapon can draw from the vehicle's battery. However, a power converter is still required for ICE engine vehicles. (also to simplify game play).
3. Critical slots: When counting the number of equipment critical slots, treat each weapon as if it has half a slot. The corrolary to this is that if a hit impacts a slot with two personal weapons, both are destroyed. The ammo is treated normally.
4. Heat: Personal weapons are considered not to generate heat (another game-simplification point.)
Thoughts?

Yes for one damage...I have given this idea a lot of thought and countless hours of effort...now if you take the TR3026 take of most Infantry support weapons (i.e. LMG, HMG, RRs etc...)all doing about 1-2 points max of damage you end up with "MG like weapons" which is fine.
But seeing how some of the real world versions of the infantry support weapons are a threat to tanks and other AFVs, one has to wonder why can't the heavy recoilless rifle at least to at the most the same damage as the AC5...with less range and other limits to balance it out.
I do like what you have done and if I can fine, read recover from a semi-toasted HD, I will try and post what I have come up with myself on this.

Rules alteration-
For missiles, mortars, and recoiless launchers assume that ammo is .01 tons per shot. Everything else is .005 tons per shot.
