Overview:
In the late 3140’s, in an attempt to make the most of their industrial output, Clan
Hell’s Horses’ leadership directed their scientists and technicians to revisit the many
older OmniMech designs they were still constructing, and determine what measures could be
implemented to make them more effective. When examining the vintage Gargoyle 80 ton
OmniMech, it was determined that most configurations did not utilize the vast amount of heat
dissipation afforded by the built-in heat sink system of that design, and the lack of
endo-steel internals also limited its payload. Alleviating these two constraints nearly
doubled the payload of the machine, making the resulting machine truly deadly on the
battlefield.
Capabilities:
A dedicated skirmisher, Alternate Configuration C mounts enough jump jets for the machine to
make leaps of up to 150 meters, giving the model excellent mobility. A pair of large pulse
lasers are mounted in each arm, and lower arm and hand actuators give the design enhanced
functionality. Each side torso has been fitted with a pair of short-range missile
four-packs, and each pair is fed by a ton of ammunition. Although this may appear to be
limited ammunition at first glance, the fact that the missile racks utilize Streak
technology means no shot or missile fires is wasted. One single extended-range small lasers
uses up the final half-ton of pod space, once these energy weapons four extra heat sinks
fitted to the design are taken into account.
